Job summary

Tata Communications in Pune is seeking a network professional to manage migrations and change activities on customer IP/MPLS circuits during planned events, ensuring completion within agreed timelines and performing rigorous pre- and post-checks. The role requires hands-on testing of L3 and L2 VPNs, Internet services, and rapid troubleshooting of any migration issues.

Candidates should have at least 2 years in a service provider environment, with CCNA or similar certifications as an advantage

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering/Technology in Telecommunication or Computers with at least 2 years of experience.
• Experience in a service provider environment with network device configuration, migration and maintenance.
• CCNA or equivalent Alcatel Lucent would be an added advantage.
• Exposure to Cisco Router/Switches and Alcatel Lucent 7750 SR devices.

Responsibilities

• Migrate and perform change management on existing customer circuits (IP/MPLS services) during planned events and downtimes with pre-check and post-check.
• Test configured/migrated customer services (L3 VPN/L2 VPN/Internet) to deliverable parameters.
• Troubleshoot and resolve post-migration issues if pre/post-checks do not match.

Job description

To perform migrations and change managements on the existing customer circuits (IP/MPLS services) during critical planned events and downtimes, ensuring the activity completion with proper pre-check post-check in stipulated time frames.
The position is also responsible for testing the configured/migrated customer services L3 VPN/ L2 VPN/ Internet to the deliverable parameters.
Troubleshooting & resolving any post migration issues if service pre-check post-check not matching.
May have to work in Shifts depending on Planned Activity schedules.
The above mentioned configuration and testing of services to be done on primarily on Cisco ,Alcatel Lucent , Huawei & Juniper devices.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications

Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor of Engineering/Technology (Telecommunication/ Computers) or equivalent degree with min. 2 yrs of experience.

Requisite Skills

Technical

Sound knowledge of IP/MPLS and MPLS based VPNs. Excellent knowledge of Network Fundamentals, Routing protocols (Static, BGP,OSPF) and Switching. Configuration and troubleshooting skills on Cisco and Alcatel Lucent routers is a must. Network device configuration and maintenance experience of at least 2 years in an organization of repute.

Work Experience

Should have worked in a service provider s environment where network device configuration, migration and maintenance would have been a Core activity. CCNA certifications or equivalent Alcatel Lucent would be an added advantage.
2 years experience in Networking field.
