Qualifications

• Diploma/BE/BTech in Electronics & Communications, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Strong knowledge of IP/MPLS architecture and routing protocols.
• Hands-on experience with SDH/STM and Multiplexer systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot independently and document actions.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission IP/MPLS network devices.
• Configure OSPF, BGP, MPLS, LDP, RSVP, and VPN services.
• Test, troubleshoot, and maintain IP/MPLS networks for maximum uptime.
• Install, configure, and commission SDH/STM and Multiplexer equipment.
• Coordinate with OFC teams for fiber testing and restoration.
• Diagnose Layer 2/3 connectivity issues.
• Monitor network performance and document changes.

Role & responsibilities

The Networking Engineer is responsible for the installation, configuration, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IP/MPLS, MUX, and STM-based communication networks. The role involves ensuring reliable network connectivity, supporting telecom and railway communication infrastructure, coordinating with customers and OEMs, and maintaining compliance with project specifications and quality standards.

IP/MPLS Network

• Install, configure, and commission IP/MPLS network devices.
• Configure routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, MPLS, LDP, RSVP, and VPN services.
• Perform network integration, testing, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Monitor network performance and ensure maximum uptime.
• Diagnose Layer 2 and Layer 3 connectivity issues.
• Perform software upgrades, patch management, and backup/restoration of network devices.

MUX & STM Systems

• Install, configure, and commission SDH/STM and Multiplexer equipment.
• Perform E1, STM-1, STM-4, STM-16 provisioning and testing.
• Configure cross-connections and bandwidth allocation.
• Troubleshoot alarms, transmission faults, synchronization, and optical link issues.
• Coordinate with OFC teams for fiber testing and restoration.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of IP/MPLS architecture and routing protocols.
• Hands-on experience with SDH/STM and Multiplexer systems.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, VLAN, VPN, QoS, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and Ethernet technologies.
• Experience in OFC connectivity, OTDR testing, and optical transmission.
• Ability to troubleshoot network and transmission issues independently.
• Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Good analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred candidate profile

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science.

• Networking Engineer: 38 years
• Experience in Telecom, Railways, Metro, RailTel, RVNL, Indian Railways, Airtel, BSNL, or similar communication infrastructure projects is preferred.
