Network Engineering Lead - Load Balancer
Job Purpose
The primary responsibility will be managing the 24x7 DC/DR/NDR network, Pan India, Network Support & Operations. You will work closely with the teams from Network Projects, EUS leads, NOC and other cross‑functional teams who are managing systems and applications, to drive efficiency and improvements in supporting/managing the business.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Analyse, design, implement and maintain the networks F5 and Citrix NetScaler Load Balancer infrastructure.
- Inspect data packets and TCP, IP flow in network and application flow.
- Possess a working knowledge of switches, routers, and firewall concepts.
- Configure and maintain F5 and Citrix Load Balancers, load balancing best practices.
- Take responsibility to upgrade network operating systems software and hardware as per management requirements.
- Ensure plans are integrated effectively with other aspects of the technical infrastructure.
- Extensive knowledge of Load balancing technology including algorithms and health check options.
- Experience with F5 BIG‑IP LTM VIP configuration with health check, F5 BIG‑IP GTM Wide IP configuration, F5 BIG‑IP iRule programming and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Citrix NetScaler VIP configuration with health check, Citrix NetScaler Global Load Balancing (GSLB) configuration.
- Extensive experience working in structured change management, Problem and Incident processes.
- Production environment experience consisting of Global load balancing, Local load balancing, SSL acceleration, HTTP compression/caching, and DNS.
- Strong networking experience – TCP/IP, Administration of networking hardware.
- Design and maintenance experience with complex web hosting network architectures.
- Directly managing routers, switches, load balancers and SSL accelerators in a high‑availability infrastructure.
- Expert understanding of TCP as it pertains to packet inspection and network/application flows.
- Expert ability to troubleshoot issues and make recommendations for system changes.
- Integration, configuration, and administration experience and a solid network background including understanding of switch, network routing, and firewall concepts.
- Very strong troubleshooting skills and a strong TCP understanding for packet inspection and TCP flow in network and application flows.
- Very good understanding of DNS functionality and concepts as it relates to IPv4 and IPv6.
- Deep understanding of network protocols (routing/switching).
- Design and implement load balancing rules using industry best practices.
- Communicate network architecture designs clearly and effectively to technical and non‑technical decision makers.
- Perform security hardening of network systems.
- Develop or contribute to technical documentation including low level design documentation, technical implementation documents, deployment/build plans, and test plans.
- Deploy designed solution within a testing environment to verify compliance with security and functional requirements.
Education Qualification
Graduation: Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) / Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) / Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)
Post‑Graduation: Master of Science (M.Sc) / Master of Technology (M.Tech) / Master of Computer Applications (MCA)
