Job summary

IDFC FIRST Bank in Bengaluru requires a Network Engineering Lead to manage load balancer infrastructure across Pan India. The role covers design, deployment, monitoring and optimization of F5 BIG-IP and Citrix NetScaler in a 24x7 production environment.

You will work with NOC and cross-functional teams, perform upgrades, and maintain high availability. Deep TCP/IP, DNS and security practices are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science / B.Tech / BCA required or higher
• Experience with F5 BIG-IP LTM VIPs and Citrix NetScaler VIPs
• Strong TCP/IP networking knowledge and WAN/LAN infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Analyse, design, implement and maintain F5 BIG-IP LTM VIPs and Citrix NetScaler VIPs and related load balancing infrastructure
• Monitor and troubleshoot network and application flows including TCP/IP, DNS, SSL acceleration
• Upgrade network OS/hardware per management requirements and ensure HA in production
• Coordinate with NOC, Network Projects, EUS leads and cross-functional teams to drive efficiency
• Document Low Level Designs, deployment plans and test plans
• Maintain security hardening and compliance of network systems

Network Engineering Lead - Load Balancer.

Job Purpose:

The primary responsibility will be managing the 24x7 DC/DR/NDR network, Pan India, Network Support & Operations. You will work closely with the teams from Network Projects, EUS leads, NOC and other cross-functional teams who are managing systems and applications, to drive efficiency and improvements in supporting/managing the business.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Should analyse, design, implement and maintain the networks F5 and Citrix NetScaler Load Balancer infrastructure.
• Should inspect data packets and TCP, IP flow in network and application flow.
• should possess a working knowledge of switches, routers, and firewall concepts.
• Should be able to configure and maintain F5 and Citrix Load Balancers, load balancing best practices.
• Should also take the responsibility to upgrade network operating systems software and hardware as per the management requirements.
• Must ensure that the plans are integrated effectively with the other aspects of the technical infrastructure.
• Extensive knowledge of Load balancing technology including algorithms and health check options.
• Knowledge and experience regarding F5 BIG-IP LTM VIP configuration with health check.
• Knowledge and experience with F5 BIG-IP GTM Wide IP configuration.
• F5 BIG-IP iRule programming and troubleshooting experience.
• Extensive knowledge of Citrix NetScaler VIP configuration with health check.
• Knowledge and experience with Citrix NetScaler Global Load Balancing (Gslb) configuration.
• Candidate Must have extensive experience working in structured change management, Problem and Incident processes.
• Candidate Must have production environment experience consisting of Global load balancing, Local load balancing, SSL acceleration, HTTP compression / caching, and DNS.
• Candidate Must have strong Networking Experience - TCP / IP, Administration of networking hardware.
• Candidate Must have design and maintenance experience with complex Web hosting network architectures.
• Experience directly managing routers, switches, load balancers and SSL accelerators in a high-availability infrastructure is required.
• Expert understanding of TCP as it pertains to packet inspection and network / application flows.
• Expert ability to troubleshoot issues and make recommendations for system changes, as needed, to resolve issues.
• must have integration / configuration / administration experience and possess a solid Network background including an understanding of switch, network routing, and firewall concepts.
• The Load Balancing Engineer must possess very strong troubleshooting skills as well as a strong TCP understanding as it pertains to packet inspection and TCP flow in the Network and Application flows.
• The Load Balancing Engineer must have a very good understanding of DNS functionality and concepts as it relates to IPv4 and IPv6.
• Deep understanding of network protocols (Routing / Switching)
• Design and implement Load balancing rules using industry best practices.
• Communicate network architecture designs clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical decision makers
• Perform security hardening of network systems.
• Develop or contribute to technical documentation including Low Level design documentation, Technical Implementation document, deployment/build plans, and test plans.
• Deploy designed solution within a testing environment to verify compliance with security and functional requirements.
