Job summary

Tekskills is seeking a telecom networking professional to support provisioning and configuration of telecom services across last mile networks. You will work with routers, switches, and related equipment, ensuring TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VoIP services function smoothly.

The ideal candidate has experience with switching systems, fiber optics, and telecom processes, and is willing to work in shifts. Knowledge of Cisco platforms and WAN/LAN/WLAN infrastructure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of networking concepts and telecom processes.
• Experience with last mile access networks and network elements routers.
• Understanding of switching systems, cabling and fiber optics.
• Exposure to provisioning configuration of telecom services.
• Willingness to work in shifts.
• Experience with telecom systems, hardware and software applications.
• Knowledge of LAN/WAN/WLAN infrastructures.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SMTP, NTP, SNMP, VoIP.
• Experience with ATM, MPLS, Frame Relay and Metro Ethernet.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Experience: Networking knowledge / Telecom knowledge is preferred.

Requirements

• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in last mile access network and network elements routers
• Good understanding of telecom processes
• Basic understanding of telecom technologies such FTTB FTTN VDSL Copper GPON etc.
• Exposure of working on Provisioning configuration of Telecom services
• Readiness to work in shifts
• Experience in the design, configuration and telecom systems, hardware and software applications.
• Understanding of switching systems, cabling and fiber optics.
• Knowledge of network topology
• Cisco Platforms 78xx, 65xx, firewalls, routers, switches would be added advantage
