Overview
As a Network Administrator, you will support a Bay Area customer with the administration and operations of their network infrastructure. You will be responsible for implementing, managing, and troubleshooting networks and systems according to the company’s needs and goals. This role involves installing and maintaining computer systems, monitoring computer and network systems to improve performance, ensuring users know how to use the networks and systems, and guaranteeing authorized access. You will maintain system security, ensure websites function, upgrade network and computer systems, and resolve network, hardware, software, and systems issues.
Responsibilities
- Support a Bay Area customer with the administration and operations of their network infrastructure.
- Implement, manage, and troubleshoot networks and systems according to the company’s needs and goals.
- Install and maintain computer systems.
- Monitor computer and network systems to improve performance.
- Educate users on how to use the networks and systems and ensure they have authorized access.
- Maintain system security and ensure websites function.
- Upgrade network and computer systems and diagnose and fix network, hardware, software, and systems problems.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of related work experience as a Network Administrator; supervisory experience in network administration.
- Network certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or Microsoft certifications in Windows Server and Windows Client.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, systems engineering, or network administration.
- Knowledge of networking services, common networking protocols, and hardware.
- Knowledge of Linux, Windows, switch configuration, NetGear, OpenVPN, PF Firewall, and general networking concepts.
- Computer proficiency and understanding of various hardware.
- Ability to problem solve, think critically, and maintain attention to detail.
- Ability to follow standard engineering principles and practices; creative approach to problem solving.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently with competing deadlines.
