MateCareer is seeking an experienced MRO Buyer to manage procurement across Engineering, Logistics, and other departments. You will ensure cost-effectiveness, timely delivery, compliance with quality standards, and adherence to procurement policies.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in using procurement software, ERP systems, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and effectively prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to identify issues, raise risks early, and drive improvements.
  • High-level proficiency in English, including communication with international suppliers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Procurement Planning: Understand requirements and inventory needs, covering MRO materials and office supplies.
  • Order Management: Place PO and ensure timely delivery, coordinating with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Supplier Management: Monitor performance, conduct reviews, and seek long-term improvements.
  • Record-Keeping: Maintain POs, contracts, trackers, and supplier info.
  • Inventory Management: Support adequate inventory with lead times and production needs.
  • Cost Optimization: Identify cost-saving measures and negotiate favorable terms.
  • Reporting: Generate procurement and supplier performance analyses.
  • Continuous Improvement & Collaboration: Drive process improvements and cross-functional initiatives.

The MRO Buyer manages procurement activities across various departments, ensuring optimal cost-effectiveness, timely delivery, and compliance with quality standards and procurement policies. This role requires effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, internal stakeholders, customers, and external suppliers, as well as a proactive approach to continuous improvement and cost savings.

Primary Responsibilities
Procurement Planning
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering and Logistics, to understand procurement requirements, specifications, inventory needs, and priorities. Ensure planning covers MRO materials and office supplies needs.
Order Management
  • Place purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials and services, coordinating with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve any issues, delays, or supply risks.
Supplier Management
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance, including delivery performance, quality and responsiveness, and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Conduct regular supplier reviews and evaluations.
  • Seek opportunities for supplier development, improved commercial terms, and long‑term supplier relationships.
Record-Keeping
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, trackers, and supplier information, according to company policies and procedures.
Inventory Management
  • Collaborate with the planning and relevant internal teams to support adequate inventory levels, considering lead times, operational requirements, and production needs.
Cost Optimization
  • Identify and implement cost‑saving measures, sourcing opportunities, and process improvements.
  • Explore opportunities for supplier consolidation, improved commercial terms, and long‑term agreements.
Reporting
  • Generate reports and analyses on procurement activities, supplier performance, purchasing performance, and cost‑saving initiatives.
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, lead times, supplier performance, and overall efficiency.
  • Support and participate in Continuous Improvement projects and cross‑functional initiatives.
  • Support other procurement categories and team members when needed.

  • Proactive mindset with the ability to identify issues, raise risks early, and drive improvements.
  • High‑level proficiency in English, including communication with international suppliers and stakeholders.
Experience & Qualification
  • Bachelorâs degree in mechanical engineering and/or Supply Chain Management.
  • Practical experience in MRO procurement.
  • Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management.
  • Experience in a global or multinational organization is an advantage.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, automotive, engineering, manufacturing, or import/export industries is an advantage.
