Position Overview

The Modeller position is responsible for performing a complete range of detailing of models using Tekla Structures during a project life cycle pertaining to Rebar modelling/detailing. Demonstrate knowledge of best use of the software to produce accurate placing drawings and bar lists necessary for the fabrication and placement of reinforcing bars and related accessories in accordance with customer contract documents, industry standards and/or established practices and procedures. This role includes partnering closely with the leader/checker and the other detailing crew in support of meeting the project requirements/schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Review the scope and details of work involved and estimate the hours required to complete the given schedule
• Review contract drawing and details thoroughly ahead of modelling and raise questions on ambiguous items
• Prepare simple to complex rebar models and drawings of structural components of any configuration using customer structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and other hand-off documents. (Drawing complexity shall be determined based on the team members experience level & skill sets)
• Responsible for reviewing and reporting the clashes within rebars and different trades/disciplines
• Responsible for performing models, drawings, and BBS clearly and concisely that can be easily read and interpreted by the customer, engineer, architect, contractor, and placer
• Responsible for creating bar lists and order forms for accessory items, in accordance with the project pour sequence and schedule
• Responsible for following the process and procedures defined for self-checking and ensure to produce quality modelling/detailing
• Responsible for delivering quality output within the given timeline and proactively reporting any deviations to the respective Team leader
• Senior team members are responsible for sharing knowledge and nurturing junior team members

Skills & Experience

• Experience working/modelling in Large and Complex Projects with 2+ years’ experience in Rebar Modelling is preferred.
• Strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable working independently with limited direction
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through
• Proficiency with Tekla Structures, BIM software, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel...)

Education

• University Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience
• Certificate or training on Tekla Structures software - Rebar Modelling.
