Job summary

JSW Steel is seeking a senior Mining Engineer to lead planning and operations for iron ore extraction. You will ensure regulatory compliance, optimize ore production, and drive continuous improvement across equipment, processes, and safety standards.

The role requires 10-15 years in iron ore mining, with a BE/B.Tech in Mining and DGMS First Class Mines Manager certification. You will supervise drilling, blasting, and mine planning activities to meet strategic targets at our Goa operations.

Qualifications

• 10-15 years of experience in iron ore mining or related field (mining engineering).
• B.Tech / B.E. degree in Mining Engineering from a recognized institution & First Class Mines Manager certificate from DGMS.
• Strong knowledge of mine planning, mining operations, drilling & blasting techniques.

Responsibilities

• Adherence to compliances with statutory and regulatory requirements (DGMS, IBM, MoEF, Labour, CPCB) and identify new legislations affecting mining operations.
• Plan, execute, and monitor mining operations to meet production targets while ensuring safety, quality, and cost standards.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and industry best practices.
• Implement optimization of ore production and waste generation.
• Implement continuous improvement to minimize losses, rejects and reworks.
• Resource optimization including man, machines, materials, supplies & utilities.
• Cost reduction through innovation and improvement projects.
• Manage drilling & blasting activities to optimize ore extraction rates.
• Monitor equipment performance and implement improvements for increased efficiency.
• Develop mine plans aligned with company objectives and strategies.
• Coordinate audit compliance related to functional area.
• Provide timely delivery of ore/lump/fines from mines at desired quantity and quality.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Adherence to compliances with all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements (DGMS, IBM, MoEF, Ministry of Labour, CPCB and any other authorities) and proactively identify and comply with any new legislations/ enactments/ amendments pertaining to Mining operations.
• Plan, execute, and monitor mining operations to meet production targets while ensuring safety, quality, and cost standards.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and industry best practices.
• Implement optimization of Ore production and waste generation
• Implement Continuous improvement and development to minimize losses, rejects and reworks on a regular basis
