Soprasteria1 in India is seeking an experienced Middleware Administrator specializing in IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) as an L2. You will install, configure, and maintain WAS along with Apache HTTP Server and Tomcat, ensuring smooth deployment and integration across environments.
You will collaborate with development teams, monitor middleware, perform capacity planning, apply security measures, manage backup strategies, and support incident resolution within SLAs.

Install, configure, and maintain IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS), Apache HTTP Server.
Manage and support the full lifecycle of middleware systems including installation, configuration, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Lead the deployment of applications on WebSphere, Apache, Tomcat ensuring seamless integration and efficient application delivery.
Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot deployment-related issues, optimize configurations, and automate deployment processes.
Monitor middleware environments (WAS, Apache, Tomcat) for performance issues, conducting tuning and optimization to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
Perform capacity planning and performance analysis to meet application performance requirements and business objectives.
Implement and enforce security measures across middleware environments, including SSL/TLS configuration, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
Familiarity with database technologies is a must e.g. PostgreSQL, Db2, Oracle, MySQL, , with the ability to perform database-related tasks and troubleshooting.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell scripting with ability to manage the automations and maintenance to be updated via scripts.
Work with security teams to identify vulnerabilities, apply patches, and ensure compliance with security policies and standards.
Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to middleware configurations, application performance, and system functionality within defined SLAs.
Manage and resolve critical incidents, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders and timely issue resolution.
Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies for middleware environments to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
Regularly test and validate backup procedures and disaster recovery plans to maintain system resilience and availability.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including development, operations, and support to ensure seamless integration and support of middleware systems.
Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of middleware configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for middleware administration and support.
Expertise in IBM WebSphere Application Server, Apache HTTP Server, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Good knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) tools such as ServiceNow, SMAX, JIRA, etc and working in agile based teams.
