The Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM Subject Matter Expert will act as the primary authority for the organization’s CRM platform. This individual will lead the design, configuration, deployment, and ongoing optimization of Dynamics 365, ensuring the system aligns with business objectives. The role requires close collaboration with stakeholders, hands-on technical expertise, and ownership of system architecture, integrations, and user enablement.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical authority for Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM, providing strategic and hands-on leadership across the platform.
- Design and define end-to-end CRM architecture, including logical, technical, and physical components.
- Build, customize, and deploy CRM solutions that support the operational needs of the Department of Economic and Workforce Development.
- Manage day-to-day administration of the CRM environment, including configurations, enhancements, upgrades, and performance monitoring.
- Develop custom features, extensions, and integrations while promoting best practices in CRM development.
- Partner with business analysts, project managers, and technical teams to convert functional requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Lead data migration activities and oversee integrations with external applications, databases, and enterprise systems.
- Prepare and deliver system demonstrations, prototypes, training materials, and technical documentation.
- Perform system testing, validation, and quality assurance to ensure reliability, security, and optimal performance.
- Provide ongoing user support, troubleshooting, and training to maximize system adoption and effectiveness.
- Contribute to project planning, release management, and deployment of new CRM capabilities.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of seven (5+) years of overall IT experience, with at least three (3) years in a senior or lead technical role.
- Three (3) or more years of hands-on experience developing and customizing Microsoft Dynamics CRM / Dynamics 365 solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of Dynamics 365 architecture, APIs, SDKs, and integration patterns.
- Experience working with SQL databases, data migration, and data management strategies.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
- Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end Dynamics 365 CRM implementations.
- Hands-on knowledge of CRM data structures, workflows, automation, and UI customization.
- Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Apps.
- Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint and integrating it with Dynamics 365 environments.
