Job summary

Ampl Resources in West Bengal is seeking a Mess Manager to oversee the operation of the mess/canteen at our sites. You will manage food quality, hygiene, staff supervision, inventory, cost control, and resident satisfaction.

Responsibilities include planning menus with management and caterer, ensuring timely meal service, monitoring stock levels, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with food-safety standards. You will coordinate with vendors and prepare periodic reports for management.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in mess, hostel, institutional catering, canteen, or food-service management.
  • Good knowledge of food hygiene, safety, and kitchen operations.
  • Strong supervision and people-management skills.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory and cost control.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge, particularly MS Excel and reporting.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and handle operational issues effectively.

  • Check incoming materials for quality and quantity.
  • Maintain records of daily meals, consumption, purchases, wastage, and expenses.
  • Control food costs and minimize wastage.
  • Handle complaints and feedback from residents/employees and take corrective action.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of kitchen, dining area, utensils, and equipment.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors as required.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and applicable food-safety regulations.
  • Prepare periodic operational and expense reports for management.
