Job summary

Convatec in Hyderabad is seeking a Lead to own the full lifecycle of MES applications, with emphasis on Apriso. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve MES systems, ensuring alignment with manufacturing operations and regulatory requirements.

You will collaborate with production managers, engineers, and IT staff to define requirements, conduct code reviews, troubleshoot, and drive continuous improvement across ERP/PLM integrations, while supporting EU timezones.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in IT systems operations with regulatory and quality focus.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum in manufacturing environments.
• Strong MES knowledge and software engineering patterns.
• Experience with Apriso and MES technologies.
• Experience with Github for manufacturing software development.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and ERP/PLM integration.

Role Overview

As the Lead you will own and lead the full lifecycle of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), with a focus on MES and Apriso. You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and improving MES applications while ensuring alignment with manufacturing operations, system reliability, scalability, and compliance requirements.

A key part of the role is to support integration with enterprise systems such as ERP, PLCs, and other manufacturing platforms, while maintaining GxP / regulatory expectations including validation and data integrity.

About Role

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve MES applications and systems
• Collaborate closely with other members of the cross-functional team including production managers, engineers, and IT staff to define system requirements and design manufacturing solutions
• Orchestrate clean, efficient, and maintainable code for MES systems, adhering to best practices and coding standards
• Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and share knowledge with the team regarding manufacturing execution systems
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing MES systems to ensure optimal manufacturing operations
• Contribute to the entire software development lifecycle for manufacturing systems, from concept to deployment and maintenance
• Stay updated with emerging MES technologies and apply them to improve existing manufacturing systems and processes
• Work closely with QA teams to ensure MES applications are of the highest quality and meet manufacturing standards
• Assist in the estimation of tasks, identify potential roadblocks in manufacturing processes, and propose solutions
• Optimize MES systems for speed, scalability and compliance across production facilities

NOTE: Role will be based in Hyderabad and supporting EU timezones. Flexibility around working hours is to be expected.

About You

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in IT Systems operations, with a focus on regulatory and Quality Solutions.
• Experience with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) in manufacturing environments
• Strong knowledge of MES principles and software engineering patterns
• Experience with Apriso platform and other MES technologies
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Github) for manufacturing software development
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills for addressing complex manufacturing challenges
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with production teams and stakeholders
• Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for manufacturing software
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and how MES systems integrate with other enterprise systems (ERP, PLM, etc.)

Education/ Qualifications

• A Masters / Bachelor's degree in Business, Information technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
• ITIL 4, Prince 2 or GMP is a plus
