Job summary

Tata Electronics Limited in Bengaluru, within the Digital Department's MES team, focuses on MES software testing and deployment across shop floors. You will partner with end users and plant IT to train, troubleshoot MES issues, coordinate with equipment and IT teams for machine integration, and conduct end-to-end testing including SIT/UAT and post-deployment support on the shop floor.

This role also involves documenting lessons learned and coordinating with project managers to ensure robust MES

Qualifications

• Bachelor level engineering degree in EEE, ECE, or CS with relevant MES exposure.
• Experience with shop floor MES implementations and testing.
• Familiarity with IIoT devices, machine interfaces, and data reporting.
• Knowledge of no-code/low-code platforms (e.g., Mendix).

Responsibilities

• Own MES testing and implementation across shop floors.
• Coordinate with end users and plant IT for training and support.
• Troubleshoot MES issues during project implementation.
• Lead SIT/UAT and coordinate deployment activities.
• Create and maintain training docs and SOPs.

Job description

The role is within the Digital Department, specifically in the MES team, focusing on shop floor systems. The position involves MES software testing, and implementation across the shop floors.

Key Responsibility

Business Partnering

• To be expertise in dedicated process (allocated within the whole business process)
• Co-ordinate with end users/plant IT team for the application training.
• Troubleshooting and issue resolution within MES scope during project implementation phase
• Co-ordinate with plant equipment & IT team for the machine integration
• Feedback from users/plant IT team for the application and take it up with supervisors for changes and enhancement

Application development & deployment

• Co-ordinate with development team to ensure the solution is developed as per the requirements
• Involved in SIT, UAT
• Co-ordinate with deployment team for application deployment
• Ensure all the IIOT devices are properly installed
• Carrying out the end-to-end application testing in shop floor post application deployment
• Shop floor support during hyper care period before handing over to plant IT team

Training & Documentation

• Responsible for training the users and plant IT team on application usage and troubleshooting
• Responsible for creating documents like WI, SOP etc., related to MES application in guidance with site leads
• Involve in project document creation (Lessons learnt, improvements, opportunities etc.) in co-ordination with leads and project managers

Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), or Computer Science.

Experience

• 4 to 7 years of experience

Additional Technical Requirements

• Deep understanding of business process in any of the industries (EMS, Semiconductor).
• Hands on experience in shopfloor applications/MES implementation (Preferably Opcenter)
• Knowledge on Mendix or equivalent no code low code platform
• Strong knowledge on different machine interface and protocols (Web API, REST API, SECS/GEM, File transfer etc.)
• Hands on experience in working with IoT devices including barcode scanners, label printers etc.
• Basic understanding of machine automation
• Knowledge on Power-BI and other equivalent reporting tools
• Basic knowledge on softcore coding for basic application troubleshooting
• Basic knowledge on MES integration with other applications such as ERP, WMS, LMS etc.
