Job summary

Capgemini Engineering seeks an experienced MES Functional Consultant with deep automotive manufacturing expertise to drive MES/MOM implementations across body shop, painting, assembly, and dispatch operations for both 2-wheelers and 4-wheelers. The role requires hands-on experience across full MES lifecycles, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to lead workshops with cross-functional teams.

You will collaborate with shopfloor teams, support SIT/UAT, and help standardize processes

Qualifications

• 10–12 years of MES/MOM consulting experience with at least 5+ years in automotive manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience in at least one full MES implementation lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge of 2-wheeler and 4-wheeler manufacturing operations.
• Experience working with OEMs or Tier-1 automotive suppliers.
• Excellent stakeholder management, workshop facilitation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead business requirement gathering workshops with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, and Manufacturing Engineering teams.
• Perform AS-IS / TO-BE process mapping, fit-gap analysis, and functional solution design for MES/MOM programs.
• Define functional requirements, user stories, business rules, workflows, and acceptance criteria.
• Design and implement MES functionalities covering: Production Execution, Order Management, Production Planning & Scheduling, Quality Management, Traceability & Genealogy, Andon & Production Monitoring, Labor Tracking, Electronic Work Instructions, Vehicle Tracking & Serialization, Rework & Non-Conformance Management, Vehicle Dispatch & Shipment Authorization.
• Collaborate with MES developers, architects, and shopfloor teams to ensure successful solution delivery.
• Support SIT, UAT, deployment, hypercare, and user training activities.
• Drive process standardization and best-practice adoption across manufacturing sites.
• Support global rollouts, template development, and multi-plant MES deployments.
• Participate in pre-sales, solutioning, effort estimation, demonstrations, and RFP response activities.
