Job summary

Mphasis in Bengaluru is seeking an Analyst, M&A to support the end-to-end deal life cycle—from sourcing and target evaluation to due diligence and post‑closing integration. The role requires strong financial modeling, Excel and PowerPoint skills, and the ability to work across global time zones.

You will collaborate with senior colleagues and cross‑functional stakeholders, prepare analyses and Board materials, and help maintain deal trackers and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • 1–4 years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate development, or transaction advisory.
  • CFA, CA, or MBA preferred; IT/ITES/digital sector experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support sourcing and maintenance of a pipeline of deal activity and potential targets.
  • Assist with strategic and financial assessments of acquisition targets, including market research.
  • Support due diligence efforts and coordination with third-party advisors and information requests.
  • Build and maintain financial models, including M&A models, valuation analyses, and return analyses.
  • Assist in preparing diligence analyses, investment theses, and board briefing materials.
  • Maintain trackers, action-item lists, and deal documentation to stay organized.
  • Provide support for post-closing integration planning and execution as required.
  • Demonstrate strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills for analyses and presentations.
  • Show ownership, prioritize tasks, and manage timelines across multiple workstreams.

Job description

The Analyst, M&A will support the M&A team in assessing and pursuing buy-side acquisitions. The role focuses on supporting the end-to-end deal life cycle, including deal sourcing, target evaluation, due diligence, and transaction execution. The Analyst will work closely with senior team members and cross-functional stakeholders to prepare analyses and materials that inform decision-making. The role may also include support for post-closing integration activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the sourcing and maintenance of a pipeline of deal activity and potential acquisition target
  • Assist with strategic and financial assessments of acquisition targets, including market and industry research
  • Support due diligence efforts, including coordination with third-party advisors and the tracking of information request
  • Build and maintain financial models, including operational and M&A models, valuation analyses, and return analyses
  • Assist in the preparation of diligence analyses, investment theses, executive briefing materials, and Board approval deck
  • Maintain trackers, action-item lists, and deal documentation to keep workstreams organized and on schedule
  • Provide support for post-closing integration planning and execution as required
  • Strong MS Office skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • solid understanding of financial statements, with hands-on experience in operational and M&A financial modeling
  • Demonstrated ownership, with the ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and apply strong analytical skills to keep timelines on track
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all deliverables
  • Flexibility and the ability to work across and manage global time zones
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CFA, CA, or MBA preferred. 1-4 years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate development, transaction advisory, or a similar analytical role is required. Experience in IT/ITES and digital sectors is a plus.
