Job summary

Mphasis is seeking an Analyst, M&A to support end-to-end deal lifecycle from sourcing to execution in Bengaluru. You will work with senior team members and cross-functional partners to prepare analyses and materials for decision-making, including post-closing integration support.

The role requires 1–4 years of CA/MBA experience in investment banking or corporate development, with strong Excel/PowerPoint and financial modeling skills. IT/ITES sector knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

  • CA or MBA with 1–4 years in investment banking or corporate development.
  • Experience in financial modeling and due diligence.
  • Strong MS Office skills and ability to present findings.
  • Ability to handle multiple workstreams across time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Support the sourcing and maintenance of a pipeline of deal activity and potential acquisition targets.
  • Assist with strategic and financial assessments of acquisition targets, including market and industry research.
  • Support due diligence efforts, including coordination with third-party advisors and the tracking of information requests.
  • Build and maintain financial models, including operational and M&A models, valuation analyses, and return analyses.
  • Assist in the preparation of diligence analyses, investment theses, executive briefing materials, and Board approval decks.
  • Maintain trackers, action-item lists, and deal documentation to keep workstreams organized and on schedule.
  • Provide support for post-closing integration planning and execution as required.

Job Summary / Overview

The Analyst, M&A will support the M&A team in assessing and pursuing buy-side acquisitions. The role focuses on supporting the end-to-end deal life cycle, including deal sourcing, target evaluation, due diligence, and transaction execution. The Analyst will work closely with senior team members and cross-functional stakeholders to prepare analyses and materials that inform decision-making. The role may also include support for post-closing integration activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with strategic and financial assessments of acquisition targets, including market and industry research

  • Strong MS Office skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Solid understanding of financial statements, with hands-on experience in operational and M&A financial modeling
  • Demonstrated ownership, with the ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and apply strong analytical skills to keep timelines on track
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all deliverables
  • Flexibility and the ability to work across and manage global time zones
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Good to have experience with databases such as Capital IQ, PitchBook
  • Must have knowledge on advanced excel and PowerPoint
