Job Title: Merchandising & Marketing Manager Export Garments

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Merchandising & Marketing Manager to develop new business opportunities and manage export garment orders from initial customer contact through to final shipment.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in garment export marketing, buyer development, merchandising and order execution. The candidate will be responsible for bringing new customers/orders to the company, whether through direct buyers, brands, buying offices, sourcing companies or agents, and independently coordinating the complete order process.

Our company has a complete garment manufacturing setup and the required production, quality, sampling and export infrastructure. The key requirement for this position is to generate business, secure orders and successfully execute those orders from enquiry to shipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new international buyers, brands, buying offices, sourcing companies and agents.
• Generate new enquiries and convert enquiries into confirmed export orders.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new customers.
• Understand buyer requirements, product specifications, prices, quantities and delivery schedules.
• Handle customer enquiries, costing, price negotiation and order confirmation.
• Coordinate with the sampling, production, merchandising, quality and export teams to ensure smooth order execution.
• Handle the complete merchandising process from order confirmation to final shipment.
• Follow up on tech packs, samples, approvals, lab dips, fabric, trims, printing, embroidery, production and quality requirements.
• Monitor production and ensure orders are completed according to the customer’s requirements and agreed delivery schedule.
• Coordinate with customers regularly and provide timely updates on order progress.
• Handle customer comments and ensure necessary corrections are communicated to the concerned departments.
• Coordinate with the export/documentation team for packing list, invoice, inspection, shipping and other export documentation.
• Ensure smooth coordination between customer requirements and factory execution.
• Follow up on payments, shipment schedules and other commercial requirements when necessary.
• Develop new markets and explore opportunities for increasing export business.
• Maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers and follow up regularly until order conversion.
• Achieve agreed business development and order booking targets.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in garment export merchandising / marketing / business development.
• Strong knowledge of knitwear and garment manufacturing.
• Experience dealing with international buyers, brands, buying offices or sourcing companies.
• Good understanding of export garment order processes from enquiry to shipment.
• Strong communication, negotiation and customer relationship skills.
• Ability to independently handle customers and orders.
• Good knowledge of garment costing, sampling, production and quality processes.
• Ability to develop new customers and generate business independently.
• Strong follow-up and coordination skills.
• Good command of English communication – written and spoken.
• Willingness to travel for customer meetings, exhibitions and business development when required.
