Job summary

Burger King in Mumbai seeks an experienced MEP Design Engineer to develop layouts for new restaurants, kiosks, and renovations. You will design HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety provisions, and coordinate with kitchen consultants and vendors to ensure feasible, code-compliant solutions.

The role requires 3–6 years in MEP design for QSR, retail, or F&B projects, with strong AutoCAD skills and BOQ preparation experience.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.

Role & responsibilities

1. MEP Design & Planning

• Prepare MEP layouts and drawings for new restaurant outlets, kiosks, and renovations.
• Design HVAC systems, electrical distribution, plumbing layouts, and fire safety provisions in line with project requirements.
• Coordinate kitchen equipment load calculations and service requirements.

2. Coordination with Design & Projects Team

• Work closely with architectural and interior design teams to integrate MEP systems within store layouts.
• Coordinate with kitchen consultants, vendors, and equipment suppliers for service requirements.

3. Site Support & Execution

• Provide technical drawings and details for site execution.
• Conduct site visits to verify MEP installations and resolve design conflicts.

4. Compliance & Approvals

• Ensure compliance with local building codes, electrical safety standards, fire safety regulations, and mall/airport authority guidelines.
• Support the team in obtaining statutory approvals and NOCs where required.

5. Documentation & BOQ

• Prepare BOQs, load schedules, and technical specifications for MEP works.
• Maintain updated as-built drawings and project documentation.

6. Vendor Coordination

• Coordinate with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety contractors.
• Review vendor drawings, material submittals, and technical specifications.

Functional/ Technical competencies:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory).
• Knowledge of HVAC load calculations and electrical load planning.
• Understanding of commercial kitchen MEP requirements.
• Familiarity with BOQ preparation and technical specifications.
• Basic knowledge of Revit or BIM (preferred).

Preferred candidate profile

Qualification:

Bachelors degree or Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering

Experience:

3- 6 years of experience in MEP design for QSR, retail, or F&B projects. Experience in Restaurant Kitchen services and equipment coordination is preferred.

Preferred Industry:

FB & QSR
