ATHARVA FOUNDRIES PVT. LTD .is a leading producer of high-quality S.G. Iron castings, committed to excellence in production, quality, and safety. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to oversee our melting operations and contribute to our continuous improvement initiatives.
Role and Responsibilities
As a Melting Supervisor, you will be the heart of our production process, responsible for overseeing all melting operations to ensure the consistent production of high-specification molten metal for our casting lines.
- Supervise Operations: Manage daily melting and pouring activities within coreless induction furnaces.
- Quality Control: Ensure strict adherence to quality, chemistry control (SG and CI grades), and temperature control for every tap.
- Process Management: Perform charging calculations, prepare charge mixes, and monitor process parameters, including magnesium treatment and inoculation to prevent defects like fading or dross.
- Safety & Compliance: Conduct regular safety audits, ensure the safe handling of molten metal and equipment, and maintain environmental compliance (e.g., dust collection, waste handling).
- Documentation & Analysis: Maintain accurate records of melting and pouring process data , analyze metallurgical data, and assist in troubleshooting production issues.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and develop a team of furnace and ladle operators to meet daily and weekly casting programs.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Experience: Minimum 3 To 5 years of experience in a similar Melting Supervisor role within an iron foundry environment, specifically with experience in SG iron production.
- Education: A Diploma in Metallurgy or Mechanical Engineering is preferred, though relevant experience may be considered.
- Technical Knowledge: Expertise in induction furnace operations, metallurgical principles, microstructure analysis, and quality testing standards (Tensile, Hardness testing).
- Problem-Solving: Strong ability to understand process flaws, reduce defects, and implement continuous process improvements.
- Communication: Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage a team effectively and coordinate with other departments.
