Job summary

Spectrum Talent Management seeks a Mechanical Technician to support plant maintenance in a manufacturing setting. You will perform preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance on rotating equipment to enhance reliability and safety.

The role requires hands-on maintenance, adherence to SMPs/WIs, and focus on quick MTTR reduction while ensuring safe operations around process equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience in plant mechanical maintenance environments.
• Familiarity with PM, PDM and CBM processes.
• Knowledge of 5S and Kaizen practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM activities for rotating equipment as per schedule.
• Carry out PDM/Run Checks and CBM as per schedule.
• Ensure 100% completion of PM, PDM and CBM per checklists.
• Inspect, troubleshoot and maintain equipment such as pumps, blowers, agitators, fans, filters, dosing pumps, compressors, chillers and gearboxes.
• Perform hands-on overhauling and repair of mechanical equipment.
• Follow SMPs/WIs for equipment maintenance.
• Identify problems and restore equipment quickly to reduce MTTR.

Mechanical Technician

Role Purpose

We are looking for a Mechanical Technician to support plant mechanical maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment. The role will be responsible for preventive, predictive and condition-based maintenance of rotating equipment and ensuring high equipment reliability, safety and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Maintenance

• Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities for rotating equipment as per the defined schedule.
• Carry out PDM/Run Checks and Condition-Based Monitoring (CBM) as per the maintenance schedule.
• Ensure 100% completion of PM, PDM and CBM activities as per prescribed checklists.
• Carry out inspection, troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment such as:
  • Pumps
  • Blowers
  • Agitators
  • Fans
  • Filters
  • Chemical dosing pumps
  • Compressors
  • Chillers
  • Gearboxes
• Perform hands-on overhauling and repair of mechanical equipment.
• Follow standard SMPs/WIs for equipment maintenance.
• Identify equipment problems and restore equipment within minimum possible time to reduce MTTR and improve plant reliability.

Safety & EHS

• Follow all applicable EHS and mechanical safety procedures.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions and learning events and ensure timely closure.
• Follow safe practices while working around process equipment and hazardous chemicals.
• Understand and follow MSDS/SDS requirements and hazard identification procedures.

Manufacturing Excellence

• Identify and rectify utility and process-line leakages.
• Maintain good housekeeping and follow 5S practices.
• Participate in Kaizen, Kicks and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute towards improvement of equipment reliability, efficiency, safety and cost effectiveness.

Spare Management

• Monitor availability of critical and non-critical mechanical spares.
• Review spare requirements based on consumption and equipment needs.
• Raise purchase requisitions for required maintenance spares.

Coordination

• Coordinate with Production, Electrical & Instrumentation, Safety, Purchase, Accounts, HR/IR and Project teams for smooth plant operations and maintenance activities.
