Job summary

The Hiring Company is seeking a Mechanical Site Engineer to monitor and control mechanical site execution for Greenfield Bio-CNG projects at project sites across multiple locations. You will oversee erection of digesters, tanks, pumps and piping, ensuring work follows drawings, specifications and schedule.

Candidate should have 3–5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical site execution and be adept at coordinating with EPC contractors and vendors, reviewing plans and maintaining progress

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech./Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience in mechanical site execution on field projects.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor day-to-day mechanical construction and erection at site.
• Supervise installation and erection of digesters, tanks, pumps, piping and equipment.
• Ensure work aligns with drawings, BOQ and method statements.
• Coordinate testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.

Greenfield Bio-CNG / CBG Project

Position: Mechanical Site Engineer

Location: Project Site / Multiple Project Sites

Job Objective

To monitor and control mechanical site execution activities for Greenfield Bio-CNG projects, ensuring timely completion as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety requirements and project schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Site Execution & Supervision

• Monitor day-to-day mechanical construction and erection activities at the project site.
• Supervise installation and erection of digesters, tanks, pumps, compressors, piping, valves, equipment, structures and mechanical packages.
• Ensure execution is as per approved drawings, specifications, BOQ and method statements.
• Check equipment erection, alignment, leveling, grouting, supports and installation.
• Monitor piping fabrication, erection, supports, valves and fittings.
• Coordinate hydro testing, pressure testing, flushing, leak testing and other applicable tests.
• Monitor equipment installation and readiness for pre-commissioning and commissioning.

EPC Contractor & Vendor Coordination

• Coordinate with EPC contractor, subcontractors, OEMs and equipment vendors.
• Monitor contractor manpower, equipment and resources against planned requirements.
• Review daily work plans and ensure execution as per schedule.
• Follow up on material availability, drawings, approvals and technical clarifications.
• Identify delays and site constraints and ensure timely resolution.

Progress Monitoring & Reporting

• Prepare Weekly Progress Reports (WPR) and Monthly Progress Reports (MPR).
• Track planned vs. actual mechanical progress.
• Maintain equipment, piping, material and activity-wise trackers.
• Maintain punch-point and pending-work trackers.
• Record daily site progress with photographs.
• Highlight delays, critical activities and recovery requirements to the Project Manager.

Quality & Inspection

• Ensure mechanical work complies with approved drawings, specifications and applicable standards.
• Coordinate inspections with TPI and EPC SPOC.
• Verify material specifications, quantity, identification and traceability.
• Monitor welding, fabrication and erection quality.
• Ensure proper closure of NCRs, observations and punch points.

Quantity & Documentation

• Verify executed quantities against BOQ and drawings.
• Support measurement and verification of contractor bills.
• Maintain mechanical completion records and inspection documentation.
• Maintain test reports, inspection reports and equipment installation records.

Safety

• Ensure compliance with site HSE requirements.
• Monitor safe practices for lifting, welding, hot work, working at height and confined-space activities.
• Ensure proper PPE and work-permit compliance.
• Report unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in mechanical site execution.
• Good knowledge of piping, equipment erection, pumps, compressors, tanks, digesters and valves.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, P&IDs, GA drawings and isometric drawings.
• Good knowledge of BOQ, quantity tracking and project schedules.
• Good coordination and contractor management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office and project reporting.
• Strong follow-up, problem-solving and reporting ability.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in Bio-CNG/CBG, biogas, process plants, chemical plants, food processing, EPC or other industrial projects will be preferred.

The candidate should be willing to work at project sites and relocate to other project locations after completion and commissioning of the initial project.
