1. Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise and coordinate effectively with clients, vendors, and the internal project team to ensure alignment on design
requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
- Act as a technical point of contact for mechanical engineering queries during project execution.
2. Technical Evaluation of Mechanical Equipment
- Perform technical comparisons (Techno-Commercial Bid Evaluations - TCBE/TBE) of Process / mechanical
equipment such as pumps, compressors, blowers, and other rotary/static equipment.
- Review vendor offers, datasheets, and technical specifications to recommend the most suitable equipment for
project requirements.
3. Process & Equipment Knowledge
- Apply sound knowledge of process equipment, and both stationary and rotary equipment, used in EPC projects for
CBG plants / Waste to energy.
- Support design, selection, and specification development for mechanical systems in line with process requirements
and industry standards.
4. Site Support & EPC Execution
- Provide on-site support during EPC execution of CBG plant projects, including installation, commissioning, and
troubleshooting of mechanical equipment.
- Coordinate with site teams to resolve technical issues and ensure design intent is maintained during construction
and erection.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
Experience: 35 years in the CBG / Biogas / Oil & Gas / Process industry, with EPC project exposure
Technical Knowledge
- Sound understanding of pumps, compressors, blowers, and other rotary and stationary equipment
- Familiarity with process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, and mechanical datasheets
- Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards (API, ASME, IS, etc.)
Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD / SolidWorks / relevant mechanical design and drafting tools (as
applicable)
Other Skills:
- Strong communication and coordination skills for client and vendor interactions
- Willingness to travel and work at project sites as required
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Attributes
- Prior experience specifically in CBG/biogas plant projects
- Exposure to techno-commercial bid evaluation processes
- Ability to work independently as well as within a cross-functional project team.
For Diploma Holders:
Key Responsibilities
- Develop 3D models of mechanical equipment, piping layouts, skids, and plant components using Solid Works.
- Prepare accurate 2D drafting/GA drawings (fabrication, assembly, and detailing drawings) from 3D models.
- Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles on drawings to ensure design intent,
manufacturability, and fit-up accuracy.
- Generate and maintain Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for mechanical, piping, and structural components.
- Prepare isometric piping drawings for process piping, utility piping, and equipment interconnections in line with
P&IDs.
- Perform technical comparison/evaluation of mechanical equipment (pumps, compressors, blowers, valves, vessels,
tanks, etc.) received from vendors against project specifications.
- Coordinate with procurement, site, and project teams to ensure design accuracy and constructability.
- Review and interpret P&IDs, PFDs, and equipment datasheets to develop layouts and piping isometrics.
- Support preparation of technical bid evaluation (TBE) documents and vendor drawing reviews.
- Maintain drawing revision control and documentation as per project QA/QC requirements.
- Coordinate with site engineering team to resolve design-related queries during execution.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in Solid Works (3D Modelling, Assembly, 2D Drafting/Detailing).
- Strong knowledge of piping isometric drawing generation and layout development.
- Working knowledge of BOQ preparation for mechanical/piping scope.
- Ability to read and interpret P&ID, GA drawings, and equipment datasheets.
- Experience in technical comparison/evaluation of mechanical equipment (pumps, blowers, compressors, valves,
storage tanks, etc.) preferred exposure to Compressed biogas (CBG)/Waste to energy/oil & gas/process industry
equipment.
- Basic understanding of piping standards (ASME B31.3, B16.5, etc.) is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with EPC project workflows and documentation practices.
- Good communication and coordination skills to liaise with vendors, site, and design teams.
- Proficient in MS Excel/Word for BOQ and technical documentation.
Qualification & Experience
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institute.
- 3–4 years of relevant industry experience, preferably in EPC projects related to CBG plants, Waste to energy, biogas,
oil & gas, or process industries.
Preferred Attributes
- Prior exposure to CBG/Biogas plant equipment (digesters, gas holders, scrubbers, compressors, dryers, etc.) is a strong
plus.
- Ability to work under project timelines and manage multiple deliverables simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel to project sites, if required.
