Job summary

Vaighai Chemical Industries Limited in Tamil Nadu is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to handle preventive and breakdown maintenance of production machinery in our cattle feed processing facility. You will troubleshoot feed mill equipment, coordinate with production and electrical teams, and maintain spare parts, maintenance records and safety practices.

Qualifications

Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering required.
Must have 2–5 years hands-on mechanical maintenance experience.
Experience in cattle feed / feed mill / food processing plants preferred.

Responsibilities

Handle preventive and breakdown maintenance of production machinery.
Maintain and troubleshoot feed mills, grinders, mixers, conveyors, elevators, pellet mills, coolers and other mechanical equipment.
Identify mechanical problems and attend breakdowns quickly to minimize production downtime.
Carry out regular inspection, lubrication, alignment and servicing of machines.
Maintain critical spare parts and coordinate with stores for timely availability.
Monitor machine performance and identify recurring maintenance issues.
Ensure proper maintenance of bearings, gearboxes, shafts, chains, belts, couplings and other mechanical components.
Maintain maintenance records, breakdown reports and preventive maintenance schedules.
Coordinate with Production and Electrical teams for smooth plant operations.
Follow safety procedures and ensure safe maintenance practices.
Support continuous improvement and reduce machine breakdowns and downtime

Preferred candidate profile

Qualification
