Job summary

Aimtrex Technologies in India seeks a hands-on Mechanical Engineer stepping into a project management role to own one site end-to-end and manage a portfolio of sites. You will read drawings, make on-site decisions, and directly interface with defense and government customers.

Preferred candidates have 5+ years of PMC/site supervision experience, knowledge of PEB/HVAC/ piping or solar erection, AutoCAD, BOQ and vendor coordination, plus fluent English and Hindi.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Site execution end to end: mobilisation, erection, commissioning and handover across multiple sites.
• Review design drawings, BOQs and technical documents; resolve site-level engineering problems on-site.
• Set project schedules, track critical path, and flag slippage weekly.
• Serve as client SPOC and lead site review meetings with defense/government customers.
• Coordinate with HQ to pull drawings, design support and material from Design, Procurement and Factory teams.
• Lead site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, manpower and logistics.

Job description

This is an engineering role that becomes a project management role. You will start by owning one site end to end mobilisation, erection, commissioning, handover. You will be running a portfolio of sites.

We are not looking for a coordinator who maintains a Gantt chart. We are looking for an engineer who can read a drawing, take the decision at site, and hold his own in front of a Brigadier.

Role & responsibilities

• Site execution, end to end. Mobilisation erection commissioning handover, on multiple mechanical installation sites running at the same time.
• The engineering call at site. Review design drawings, BOQs and technical documents; resolve site-level engineering problems yourself instead of escalating them to HQ.
• Schedule, cost and quality. Make the project schedule, track the critical path, and send an honest weekly MIS flag slippage before it becomes a delay.
• Client SPOC. Single point of contact at site. You run the site review meetings with the military and government customer.
• Your team on site. Site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, manpower and logistics.
• Coordination with HQ. Pull drawings, design support and material out of the Design, Procurement and Factory teams so site is never waiting.

Preferred candidate profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university.
• 5+ years of hands-on mechanical project execution at site, including direct PMC / site supervision experience. A design-office-only background will not suit this role.
• Working knowledge of PEB, HVAC, piping or solar erection; AutoCAD; BOQ, billing and vendor coordination.
• Fluent in English and Hindi. You will be dealing with defense officers/Indian Army officers clear, composed and professional.
• The temperament for it. Takes the decision at site without waiting for permission, handles multiple sites at once, and is willing to travel frequently to project sites.
