Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer – Maintenance for our client site at Lanjigarh, Odisha.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands‑on experience in mechanical maintenance, rotating equipment, static equipment, material handling systems, preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, and reliability improvement in an Alumina Refinery or other process/heavy industries.
Qualification & Experience
- B.E. / B.Tech – Mechanical Engineering: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Diploma – Mechanical Engineering: Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
- Candidates with experience in Alumina Refinery, Steel Plant, Power Plant, Cement Plant, Fertilizer Plant, RMHS, or similar process industries will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Ensure maximum equipment availability, reliability, and maintenance effectiveness.
- Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and ensure timely restoration of equipment.
- Carry out maintenance of rotating, static, and material handling equipment.
- Monitor equipment condition and identify potential failures through inspection and preventive maintenance.
- Analyse recurring failures and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major and repetitive equipment failures.
- Coordinate with Operations, Electrical, Instrumentation, and other maintenance teams for smooth plant operation.
- Support shutdown planning, execution, and post-shutdown review.
- Ensure timely completion of PM schedules, work orders, maintenance checklists, and pending jobs.
- Supervise technicians, fitters, contractors, and maintenance teams.
- Monitor maintenance backlog, equipment downtime, PM compliance, and reliability KPIs.
- Ensure availability and proper utilization of critical mechanical spares.
- Maintain equipment history, maintenance records, inspection reports, and daily/monthly maintenance reports.
- Ensure compliance with SOP, SMP, PTW, LOTO, PPE, and plant safety procedures.
- Participate in reliability improvement, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- B.E. / B.Tech: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Diploma: Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in Alumina Refinery / Aluminium / Steel / Power / Cement / Fertilizer / RMHS / Process Industry.
- Strong practical knowledge of rotating, static, and material handling equipment.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance practices.
- Good communication, coordination, and team-handling skills.
- Safety-conscious with a strong focus on equipment reliability and operational excellence.
- Willingness to work in a plant / shift-based environment.
