Job summary

Unitop Aquacare in Maharashtra seeks a skilled draughtsman to develop 2D and 3D CAD drawings for static equipment, including pressure vessels, storage tanks, heat exchangers, and MVRE. You will produce GA, sectional, fabrication and assembly drawings and ensure compliance with relevant standards.

Collaborate with mechanical engineers to interpret PFD and P&ID, apply tolerances and welding symbols, generate BOMs, and maintain up-to-date documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop 2D and 3D CAD drawings for static equipment (pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, MVRE).
• Create GA, sectional, fabrication and assembly drawings.
• Prepare drawings compliant with ASME, API 650 and related codes.
• Interpret P&IDs, Plant Layout, flow sheets and mechanical data sheets.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers to interpret PFD and P&ID.
• Incorporate feedback and revise drawings.
• Generate BOMs and maintain documentation up-to-date.
• Apply tolerances, weld symbols, finishes and other specs.
• Coordinate with structural, electrical and instrumentation teams.
• Prepare technical datasheets and calculation summaries.
• Support fabrication, assembly and installation stages.
• Perform self-checks and peer reviews for accuracy.
• Identify design challenges and propose improvements.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

1. Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for static equipment, including pressure vessels, storage tanks, heat exchangers, and MVRE.
2. Develop general arrangement (GA) drawings, sectional views, fabrication drawings, and assembly drawings.
3. Prepare fabrication, assembly, and general arrangement drawings, ensuring compliance with codes like ASME, API 650, and other relevant standards.
4. Interpret engineering calculations, P&IDs, Plant Layout, flow sheets and mechanical design data sheets to produce accurate technical drawings.
5. Work closely with mechanical engineers to interpret design data, process flow diagrams (PFD), and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID).
6. Incorporate feedback from engineers and clients, revising drawings as necessary.
7. Generate bills of materials (BOM) and ensure drawing documentation is up-to-date.
8. Implement changes as per design reviews, client feedback, and quality checks.
9. Conduct dimensional checks and ensure drawings align with design tolerances and project specifications.
10. Apply proper tolerances, weld symbols, surface finishes, and other technical specifications to drawings.
11. Coordinate with other departments to ensure design compatibility with structural, electrical, and instrumentation teams.
12. Support the preparation of technical documentation and reports.
13. Maintain organized records of all drawings, revisions, and project documentation.
14. Prepare bills of materials (BOM), material take-offs (MTO), and welding maps.
15. Assist in the preparation of technical datasheets, reports, and calculation summaries.
16. Collaborate with project teams to understand project timelines and deliverables.
17. Communicate effectively with procurement, quality, and fabrication teams to ensure design intent is accurately translated into production.
18. Support the project team during fabrication, assembly, and installation stages, providing technical assistance as required.
19. Conduct self-checks and peer reviews to ensure drawing accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
20. Identify potential design challenges and propose solutions to improve manufacturability.

Required Qualifications

1. Graduate, Undergraduate or Diploma holder.
2. Minimum 4 years of experience as a draughtsman in mechanical static equipment design.
3. Proficiency in CAD software.
4. Strong knowledge of static equipment, including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, and piping systems.
5. Familiarity with international design codes (ASME, API, TEMA, etc.).
6. Ability to interpret mechanical design calculations and apply them to drawings.
7. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and time management.
8. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
