Job summary

Siemens Technology and Services Private Limited in Chennai seeks a Mechanical Engineer with BIM MEP expertise to design, coordinate, and document complex MEP models. You will develop detailed 3D models, run clashes, and ensure alignment with project standards.

You will collaborate across disciplines, manage ACC-based workflows, and contribute to BIM library development. The role emphasizes precision, timely delivery, and optimization of BIM processes.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 2-8 years hands-on BIM MEP modeling and coordination experience.
• Proficiency in Revit MEP, Navisworks, ACC/BIM 360, and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and maintain BIM models for Mechanical and Electrical systems using Revit.
• Create detailed 3D models, coordination layouts, schedules, and documentation.
• Perform multidisciplinary model coordination with architecture and structural teams.
• Conduct clash detection and model validation using Navisworks and other tools.
• Manage collaboration and document control through ACC, including version management.
• Develop and maintain BIM families, templates, shared parameters, and libraries.
• Generate BOMs and quantity take-offs from BIM models for procurement and production.
• Ensure BIM models meet LOD requirements and project standards.
• Participate in coordination meetings and resolve technical issues.
• Continuously improve BIM workflows and productivity.

We are looking for: Mechanical Engineer

You’ll make an impact by:

• Develop, modify, and maintain high-quality BIM models for Mechanical and Electrical systems using Autodesk Revit in accordance with project requirements, and company standards.
• Create detailed 3D models, coordinated layouts, schedules, and engineering documentation for project deliverables.
• Perform multidisciplinary model coordination with Architectural, Structural, and other Building Services teams to ensure accurate and clash-free designs.
• Conduct clash detection, interference checks, and model validation using Navisworks and other BIM coordination tools, proactively identifying and resolving design conflicts.
• Manage project collaboration and document control through Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), including model sharing, issue tracking, coordination workflows, and version management.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize Revit MEP families, templates, project standards, shared parameters, and BIM libraries to improve modeling efficiency and consistency across projects.
• Generate Bills of Materials (BOM), material take-offs, and quantity schedules directly from BIM models to support engineering, procurement, and production activities.
• Ensure BIM model quality that adhere to project-specific standards, Level of Development (LOD) requirements, and client specifications.
• Participate in coordination meetings and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve technical issues and achieve project milestones.
• Continuously improve BIM workflows, automation opportunities, and best practices to enhance productivity and project quality.

Use your skills to move the world forward!

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering with 2-8 years of hands-on experience in BIM MEP modeling and coordination
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)/BIM 360.
• Experience in creating and managing Revit Families, Templates, Shared Parameters, and BIM Libraries.
• Experience in clash detection, model coordination, quality assurance, BOM generation, quantity take-offs, and engineering documentation.
• Knowledge of BIM standards, LOD requirements, and model management best practices.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and other BIM-related tools will be an added advantage.
• Strong communication, coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary project environment.
• Ability to deliver high‑quality BIM outputs within project schedules while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project standards.
