Job summary

INDURE seeks a seasoned Proposal Engineer with 8–15 years of detailed engineering experience, focusing on CHP/AHP/BOP and related industrial EPC bids. You will develop sizing calculations, BOQs, and technical specifications while evaluating vendors and coordinating with cross-functional teams to support competitive proposals.

Key responsibilities include reviewing tender documents, preparing compliance statements, and contributing to cost optimisation through engineering assumptions review.

Qualifications

• 8–15 years of experience in detailed engineering for CHP/AHP/BOP and industrial EPC projects.
• Experience in bulk material handling, thermal/power plants, or steel/cement plants is preferred.
• Proposal engineering experience including BOQs, equipment sizing, and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documents and drawings; identify engineering deliverables.
• Prepare equipment sizing calculations, BOMs, and technical specifications.
• Evaluate vendor offers and conduct technical bid comparisons.
• Coordinate with Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, Procurement and Planning teams.
• Develop cost optimisation opportunities and review engineering assumptions.
• Attend technical meetings and prepare clarification responses.

Job description

Position Purpose

To prepare technically sound and commercially competitive proposals for CHP, AHP, BOP, and EPC projects by applying detailed engineering knowledge and supporting the Proposal Manager in all aspects of bid preparation.

The incumbent shall be responsible for developing engineering deliverables, technical specifications, equipment sizing, BOQs, and vendor evaluations required for successful project bids.

Role & responsibilities

Tender Evaluation

• Review tender documents, specifications and drawings.
• Understand project scope and contractual technical requirements.
• Identify engineering deliverables.
• Highlight technical risks and deviations.

Proposal Engineering

• Prepare equipment sizing calculations.
• Prepare equipment lists.
• Develop Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
• Prepare technical specifications.
• Review General Arrangement drawings.
• Develop mechanical layouts.
• Prepare compliance statements.
• Prepare technical deviations.

Vendor Engineering

• Prepare RFQs.
• Evaluate vendor offers.
• Conduct technical bid comparisons.
• Recommend technically acceptable vendors.
• Coordinate technical clarifications.

Engineering Coordination

Coordinate with Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, Procurement and Planning teams for timely proposal inputs.

Cost Optimisation

• Verify quantities.
• Support estimation.
• Identify value engineering opportunities.
• Review engineering assumptions.

Client Support

• Attend technical meetings.
• Prepare clarification replies.
• Support proposal presentations.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering or
• AMIE (Mechanical)

Experience

8 to 15 years.

Preference will be given to candidates having detailed engineering experience in:

Proposal-only experience without detailed engineering exposure will not be preferred.
