Job summary

ALTEN India in Pune is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with 3-5 years of experience to join our team. The role focuses on 3D packaging and layout design using Inventor and 3DEXPERIENCE, with emphasis on GD&T and DFM/DFA concepts.

You will design structural brackets and frames, route piping and tubing, prepare isometric and 2D manufacturing drawings, and manage tasks with minimal supervision to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical).
• 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering.
• Experience with Inventor and 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX).

Responsibilities

• Proficiency in Inventor and 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX).
• 3D packaging and layout design, including clash detection and space management.
• Design structural brackets and frame components with basic strength assessment.
• Routing pipes, hoses, and tubes with correct minimum bend radius, clamping, and isometric documentation.
• Create detailed 2D manufacturing drawings with ASME Y14.5 GD&T understanding.
• Apply DFM/DFA principles for fabrication, welding and assembly feasibility.
• Independently manage assigned tasks, timelines, and deliverables with minimal supervision.
