Job summary

VS Industries is seeking a Design Engineer to join our engineering team and handle the design and development of industrial machinery, process equipment, tanks, turnkey project components, conveyors, and assembly lines.

Responsibilities include creating 2D and 3D designs, fabrication/assembly drawings, BOMs, and coordinating with fabrication, production, procurement, and project teams to ensure production-ready designs that meet standards and customer specs.

Qualifications

• Prepare 2D and 3D designs for industrial machinery and assemblies.
• Develop fabrication, assembly, GA, and manufacturing drawings.
• Work with AutoCAD and SolidWorks for design and drafting.
• Interpret project requirements and technical drawings.
• Perform basic design calculations for tanks and structures.
• Select materials, components, motors, gearboxes, bearings, valves and pumps.
• Prepare BOMs and material specifications.
• Coordinate with fabrication, production, procurement and project teams.
• Review feasibility and modify designs for manufacturing requirements.
• Prepare drawings for vendor development and component procurement.

Role & responsibilities

We are looking for a Design Engineer to join our engineering team and handle the design and development of industrial machinery, process equipment, tanks, turnkey project components, conveyors, and assembly lines.

Preferred candidate profile

• Prepare 2D and 3D designs for industrial machinery, process equipment, tanks, structures, and assemblies.
• Develop detailed fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, GA drawings, and manufacturing drawings.
• Work on AutoCAD and SolidWorks for mechanical design and drafting.
• Understand project requirements, customer specifications, and technical drawings.
• Perform basic design calculations for tanks, structures, shafts, supports, conveyors, and other mechanical components.
• Select suitable materials, components, motors, gearboxes, bearings, valves, pumps, and other mechanical items.
• Prepare BOMs (Bill of Materials) and material specifications.
• Coordinate with the fabrication, production, procurement, and project teams to ensure designs are practical and production-ready.
• Review fabrication feasibility and make design modifications based on manufacturing requirements.
• Prepare drawings for vendor development and component procurement.
• Coordinate with customers/consultants when required for drawing approvals and technical clarifications.
• Maintain proper revision control and engineering documentation.
• Visit project sites when required for measurements, installation support, troubleshooting, and design verification.
• Ensure designs meet applicable industry standards, safety requirements, and customer specifications.
• Continuously improve existing designs for cost reduction, reliability, ease of fabrication, and performance.
