Job summary

Schaeffler India Ltd. is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design engineer to drive development and improvement of mechanical production equipment for the Schaeffler Production System. The role focuses on designing manufacturing equipment, creating CAD drawings, and defining innovative processes.

The candidate will work on mechanical design using Creo and WindChill, with 3–6 years in automation machine design and PCB components, supporting the engineering team onsite in Gujarat.

Qualifications

• Graduate Degree in Mechanical, Production Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
• A completed degree in technical studies or training to become a technical engineer with several years of experience.
• Strong experience in mechanical design with Creo and WindChill used in special machine construction.
• Minimum 3–6 years of experience in Automation Machine Design, EMS, PCB components.

• Coordinate and maintain development and continuous improvement of mechanical production equipment and concepts.
• Design and develop mechanical manufacturing equipment for the Schaeffler Production System.
• Define processes for development of innovative solutions and future demand.
• Support the further development of the mechanical engineering sector.
• Create technical documentation, drawings, and specifications in compliance with industry standards.
• Carry out calculations and tests as required.
• Prepare layouts, drafts, and 3D models.
• Detail and prepare bills of materials; select suppliers for mechanical components.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and maintain the development and continuous improvement of mechanical production equipment and concepts.
• Design and develop mechanical manufacturing equipment for the Schaeffler Production System.
• Define processes for the development of innovative solutions and future demand.
• Support the further development of the mechanical engineering sector.
• Create technical documentation, drawings, and specifications in compliance with industry standards.
• Analyzes, calculates and creates business or technical concepts or solutions. Targeting the continuous optimization of concepts, processes or procedures, or the continuous improvements of products and tools.
• Carrying out the development and mechanical design of special assembly, inspection, feed, and production machinery for the Schaeffler Group and for external customers with the goal that the delivered equipment meets all technical, economic, and qualitative requirements.
• Carrying out required calculations and tests
• Preparing layouts, drafts, and 3D models
• Detailing and preparing bills of materials
• Selecting suppliers for mechanical components
• Preparing risk assessments and process descriptions
• Responsible for fluid plans and their monitoring
• Technical contact person for the special machinery built, even after it has been delivered
• Responsible to provide support while Installation and commissioning at site

Your Qualifications

• Graduate Degree in Mechanical, Production Engineering or Industrial Engineering
• A successfully completed degree in technical studies or sucessfully completed training to become a technical engineer with several years of professional experience
• Strong experience in mechanical design with the CAD tool Creo and WindChill used in special machine construction.
• Minimum 3 to 6 years of experience in Automation Machine Design, EMS, PCB Components
