Job summary

Versuni in India is seeking a seasoned Mechanical Engineer to develop high-level and detailed mechanical designs aligned with product requirements and reference architectures. You will finalize designs, write verification plans, and validate quality through testing.

You will work with a cross-functional team in product development from prototyping to mass production; the role emphasizes injection molding, metal forming, documentation per templates, and staying current with design best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years’ experience in development of consumer electronics products or domestic appliances for mass production.
• Strong design analysis and validation skills based on theoretical calculations (e.g., stress/deformation).
• Hands-on experience designing parts for injection molding and metal forming.

Role & responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing high level and detailed mechanical designs in accordance with the product requirements and reference architecture requirements.
• Finalizing the mechanical design and integration and write verification plans for the developed elements and parts. Test, analyze and verify the quality of the design.
• Optimization, realization and integration, life-cycle management, and verification of (elements and parts of) products, systems and/or solutions.
• Develop the mechanical work with focus on user and business requirements, compliance, quality and cost.
• Combine existing and/or purchased elements and parts into (elements of) products, systems and/or solutions.
• Delivering input in the planning process to the system engineer. Draws up part development schedules and reports on progress in a structured and methodical way.
• Ensure that documentation takes place according to the provided templates from the I2M processes.
• Interaction and close co-ordination with project team and other stakeholders to ensure coherence
• Maintain an outside-in approach for the mechanical designs created. Keeping abreast of the latest advancements in technology, design trends, and engineering best practices.

You are a part of

A team involved in the product development from detailed design, prototyping and testing until industrialization and mass production.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

• Bachelors/Master’s in Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years of work experience in development of consumer electronics products or domestic appliances for mass production will be preferred.
• In-depth knowledge and strong competence in design analysis and validation based on theoretical calculation for example stress and deformation calculation
• Hands on experience in designing parts for injection molding and metal forming
• Familiar with Unigraphics (NX) or other CAD software
• Desired Attitude/Attributes:
• Strong analytical & conceptual thinking, along with a systematic approach
• Ability to work in a team-based environment together with other disciplines (e.g. Electrical & Electronics, QA, Procurement etc.)
• Good communication skills and time management
• Hands-on approach, Pro-activeness in problem-solving & Willingness to learn
