Job summary

Eaton is seeking an experienced Mechanical/Production Engineer to design, industrialize, and standardize manufacturing processes for transmissions and components. You will develop PFMEA, SOPs, and control plans to ensure SQDC targets are met while driving continuous improvement and Industry 4.0 initiatives.

You will collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to optimize processes and sustain documentation for audits.

Qualifications

• BE / BTech – Mechanical or Production Engineering with minimum 5 years’ experience.
• Diploma – Mechanical or Production Engineering with minimum 08 years’ experience.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 and core quality tools is required.

Responsibilities

• Designs and establishes end-to-end manufacturing processes for transmission and components.
• Develops PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Flow Diagrams.
• Analyze Cp/Cpk for critical characteristics and improve process capability.
• Create and maintain SOPs for process standardization.
• Implement Poka-Yoke to prevent defects.
• Plan Run@Rate, trials, and process validations.
• Manage ECN/PCN changes with proper documentation.
• Conduct process risk assessments and support EHS compliance.
• Lead CI, Industry 4.0, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams.
• Maintain manufacturing engineering records and audit-ready metrics.

Job description

What you’ll do:Eaton announced, on June 11, 20206, the intent to combine its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) with a new company. We expect to complete this process by the end of the first half of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the transaction closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.The incumbent will be responsible for designing, industrializing, standardizing, and continuously improving manufacturing processes for transmission and its components like Synchronizer and XY shifter, I4.0 Initiative, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, cost, and compliance (SQDC) objectives are met in line with Eaton requirements.1. Designs and establishes end-to-end manufacturing processes for transmission and its components.2. Develops and maintains Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA, and Control Plans.3. Analyzes and improves process capability (Cp/Cpk) for critical characteristics.4. Creates, reviews, and controls standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure process standardization5. Implements and validates error-proofing (Poka-Yoke) solutions to prevent manufacturing defects.6. Plans and executes process validations, trial runs, and Run@Rate activities.7. Manages engineering changes (ECN/PCN) ensuring controlled implementation and documentation updates.8. Conducts process risk assessments and supports EHS compliance for machining and grinding operations.9. Leads continuous improvement, industry 4.0 and cost reduction initiatives.10. Coordinates with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams.11.
