Qualifications

  • BE / BTech in Mechanical or Production Engineering with 5+ years of experience or Diploma with 8+ years.
  • Strong knowledge of transmission manufacturing processes and Industry 4.0 concepts.
  • Experience with quality core tools and IATF 16949 compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Designs end-to-end manufacturing processes for transmission and components.
  • Develops PFMEA, Control Plans, and process flow diagrams.
  • Improves Cp/Cpk for critical characteristics.
  • Creates and maintains SOPs for process standardization.
  • Implements Poka-Yoke solutions to prevent defects.
  • Plans validations, trial runs, and Run@Rate activities.
  • Manages ECN/PCN changes with proper documentation.
  • Performs process risk assessments and supports EHS compliance.
  • Leads continuous improvement, Industry 4.0 and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Coordinates with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain.
  • Maintains manufacturing engineering records for audits.

Job description

What You’ll Do

Eaton announced, on June 11, 20206, the intent to combine its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) with a new company. We expect to complete this process by the end of the first half of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the transaction closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.

The incumbent will be responsible for designing, industrializing, standardizing, and continuously improving manufacturing processes for transmission and its components like Synchronizer and XY shifter, I4.0 Initiative, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, cost, and compliance (SQDC) objectives are met in line with Eaton requirements.

  • Designs and establishes end-to-end manufacturing processes for transmission and its components.
  • Develops and maintains Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
  • Analyzes and improves process capability (Cp/Cpk) for critical characteristics.
  • Creates, reviews, and controls standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure process standardization
  • Implements and validates error-proofing (Poka-Yoke) solutions to prevent manufacturing defects.
  • Plans and executes process validations, trial runs, and Run@Rate activities.
  • Manages engineering changes (ECN/PCN) ensuring controlled implementation and documentation updates.
  • Conducts process risk assessments and supports EHS compliance for machining and grinding operations.
  • Leads continuous improvement, industry 4.0 and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Coordinates with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Maintains manufacturing engineering records and metrics for audits and reviews.
Qualifications
  • BE / BTech – Mechanical or Production Engineering with minimum 5 years’ experience OR
  • Diploma – Mechanical or Production Engineering with minimum 08 years’ experience
Skills

Strong knowledge of transmission and its components manufacturing processes, industry 4.0, quality core tools (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, SPC) and IATF 16949 compliance.

Requires strong shop-floor engagement, analytical ability, cross-functional coordination, and ownership of process robustness for transmission and its components.
