Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in IT, Computer Applications or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in the power distribution sector.
• Proven MDMS supervision or implementation experience.
• Hands-on MDMS design, architecture, and process design.
• Experience in at least 2 MDMS projects within AMI.
• Strong understanding of system integration, documentation, and project delivery.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder coordination abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the MDMS implementation for power distribution projects.
• Design MDMS solution architecture aligned with project requirements.
• Develop and document system architecture, workflows, and specs.
• Prepare and review HLD and LLD documents.
• Design and optimize processes for meter data collection, validation, storage, and reporting.
• Manage MDMS integration with AMI components (HES, smart meters, utilities apps).
• Coordinate with IT teams, system integrators, vendors, and utilities.
• Identify and resolve MDMS deployment issues.
• Ensure data accuracy, reliability, interoperability and compliance.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced MDMS Expert (Meter Data Management System) with a strong background in power distribution projects, MDMS implementation, solution architecture, and system integration. The ideal candidate should have experience in designing and implementing MDMS solutions, preparing High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents, and managing MDMS integrations within Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the implementation of Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS) for power distribution projects.
• Design MDMS solution architecture in line with project requirements and power utility business processes.
• Develop and document system architecture, integration workflows, and technical specifications.
• Prepare and review High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents.
• Design and optimize business processes related to meter data collection, validation, processing, storage, and reporting.
• Manage MDMS integration with AMI components, including Head-End Systems (HES), smart meters, and other utility applications.
• Coordinate with IT teams, system integrators, technology vendors, and power distribution utilities to ensure seamless implementation.
• Identify and resolve technical and integration issues during MDMS deployment.
• Ensure data accuracy, system reliability, interoperability, and compliance with project requirements.
• Monitor project implementation and provide technical guidance to ensure successful delivery.

Required Skills & Experience

• B.E./B.Tech in IT, Computer Applications, or a relevant discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in the power distribution sector.
• Proven experience in supervising or implementing Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS).
• Hands‑on experience in MDMS solution design, architecture, and process design.
• Experience preparing and reviewing HLD and LLD documents.
• Experience in at least 2 projects involving MDMS implementation, solution architecture design, or MDMS integration within AMI projects in the power distribution sector.
• Strong understanding of system integration, technical documentation, and project implementation.
• Good analytical, problem‑solving, and stakeholder coordination skills.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of AMI-based integrations and smart metering ecosystems.
• Familiarity with Head-End Systems (HES), smart meter communication, and utility IT applications.
• Experience working with power distribution utilities or smart metering implementation projects.
