The ideal candidate has a degree in engineering or IT and at least 7 years in power distribution, with proven HES implementation and documentation skills. This role is based in Indore, India.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced HES Expert (Head-End System) with expertise in power distribution and smart metering projects. The candidate should have hands-on experience in Head-End System (HES) implementation, solution design and architecture, process design, and system integration within Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the implementation of Head-End Systems (HES) for power distribution and smart metering projects.
• Design and develop HES solution architecture based on project requirements and utility operational needs.
• Prepare and review High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents.
• Define technical processes and workflows for communication between smart meters and HES.
• Manage HES integration with smart meters, Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS), and other AMI components.
• Coordinate with technology vendors, system integrators, IT teams, and power distribution utilities for seamless implementation.
• Monitor HES deployment, configuration, and integration activities to ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues related to HES implementation and system interoperability.
• Ensure reliable meter communication, data acquisition, and integration with downstream utility systems.
• Prepare technical documentation, implementation reports, and system integration deliverables.

Required Skills & Experience

• Degree in Engineering, IT, or Computer Applications.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in the power distribution sector.
• Proven experience in supervising or implementing Head-End Systems (HES).
• Strong understanding of HES solution design, system architecture, and process design.
• Experience preparing HLD and LLD documents.
• Experience in at least 2 projects involving HES implementation, solution architecture design, or HES integration in AMI projects within power distribution.
• Understanding of smart meter communication, system integration, and technical implementation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder coordination skills.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of AMI-based integration and smart metering ecosystems.
• Familiarity with MDMS integration, smart meter communication protocols, and utility IT systems.
• Experience working with power distribution utilities or smart metering implementation agencies.
