Qualifications

• 17 years of professional experience in the power sector, especially distribution.
• Experience advising utilities on project management, loss reduction, tech implementation, and commercial processes.
• Experience in ICT system design or implementation, notably metering, billing, collection, and CRM systems.
• Proven expertise in project management, contract management, stakeholder coordination, and reporting.
• Experience in large-scale power distribution or AMR/AMI/Smart Metering projects meeting investment criteria.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Team Lead with extensive experience in advising power distribution utilities on project management, loss reduction, technology implementation, and commercial process improvement. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in ICT system design or implementation, particularly revenue management systems such as metering, billing, collection, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM).

The candidate must demonstrate proven project management and contract management capabilities, along with experience managing large-scale power distribution or AMR/AMI/Smart Metering projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and advise power distribution utilities on project planning, implementation, monitoring, and performance improvement.
• Drive initiatives related to distribution loss reduction, operational efficiency, technology adoption, and commercial process optimization.
• Oversee the design and implementation of ICT solutions for power distribution utilities.
• Provide technical and managerial guidance for revenue management systems, including metering, billing, collection, and CRM.
• Lead the implementation and monitoring of AMR, AMI, and Smart Metering projects, wherever applicable.
• Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, deliverables, and resource allocation.
• Oversee contract management, vendor coordination, and stakeholder engagement to ensure effective project execution.
• Monitor project performance against defined milestones, financial targets, and quality requirements.
• Prepare and review project progress reports, management reports, and other project documentation.
• Coordinate with utility management, implementation agencies, technology providers, and other stakeholders.
• Identify project risks, resolve implementation challenges, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, project specifications, and applicable requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
• Minimum 17 years of professional experience in the power sector, particularly power distribution.
• Experience advising power distribution utilities on project management, loss reduction, technology implementation, and commercial processes.
• Experience in ICT system design or implementation, particularly metering, billing, collection, and CRM systems.
• Proven expertise in project management, contract management, stakeholder coordination, and reporting.
• Demonstrated experience in large-scale power distribution or AMR/AMI/Smart Metering projects meeting the investment criteria below.

Mandatory Project Experience

Candidates must meet either of the following criteria:

Option 1 Power Distribution Projects

• Minimum 3 projects in the power distribution sector.
• Each project must have an investment value of 250 crore or above.

OR

Option 2 – AMR / AMI / Smart Metering Projects

• Minimum 3 AMR (Automated Meter Reading), AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure), or Smart Metering projects.
• Each project must have an investment value of 100 crore or above.

Preferred Qualifications & Competencies

• M.Tech or MBA in Management / Engineering.
• Extensive experience in power distribution utility transformation and large-scale project implementation.
• Strong leadership, strategic planning, commercial understanding, and decision-making capabilities.
• Candidates with experience beyond the minimum required tenure will receive additional consideration.
