SGS India is seeking an experienced Field Engineer Smart Metering to lead on-site installation and MIS reporting for AMR/AMI projects in Indore. The role involves supervising field installations and ensuring compliance with project requirements.

You will oversee field teams, maintain installation records, and coordinate with utilities and contractors to ensure timely completion and quality workmanship, while producing regular MIS updates.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in smart meter installation.
• Experience on AMR/AMI projects.
• Hands-on experience in preparing MIS reports and tracking field installation progress.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Field Engineer Smart Metering with hands-on experience in smart meter installation and MIS preparation for AMR/AMI projects. The candidate will be responsible for supervising field installation activities, monitoring project progress, maintaining installation records, and ensuring quality and compliance with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate smart meter installation activities under AMR/AMI projects.
• Monitor field teams and ensure timely and quality installation of smart meters.
• Ensure installations are carried out as per approved technical specifications and project guidelines.
• Prepare, update, and maintain MIS reports related to meter installation, progress, and field activities.
• Track daily installation targets, completed installations, pending work, and field-level issues.
• Identify and resolve installation-related technical issues in coordination with project teams.
• Coordinate with power distribution utilities, contractors, and field personnel to ensure smooth project execution.
• Maintain accurate records of installation data, site progress, and project documentation.
• Support quality checks and ensure compliance with safety procedures during field operations.

Required Skills & Experience

• Degree in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in smart meter installation.
• Experience working on AMR (Automated Meter Reading) or AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) projects.
• Hands-on experience in preparing MIS reports and tracking field installation progress.
• Good coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage field activities and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
