Job summary

Alstom in Mumbai seeks a full-time Material Planner to lead the material planning process and manage supplier KPIs. You will work with Industrial Planning, Procurement, Logistics, Quality, Engineering, and Finance to ensure smooth material flow and meet production needs.

You will drive team performance, develop competencies, and collaborate with multiple stakeholders while leveraging SAP, Excel, and BI tools to optimize supply chain efficiency.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in mechanical engineering with material planning exposure.
• Knowledge of materials requirements planning and supplier delivery performance.
• Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel; familiarity with Power BI/Qlik.
• Supply chain or project management certification is favored.
• Fluent English; local language knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the material planning process and ensure seamless flow of materials.
• Manage supplier KPIs and drive continuous improvement with stakeholders.

You''ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless flow of materials, supporting both internal and external stakeholders to meet production and project needs. Day-to-day, youll work closely with teams across the business (e.g., Industrial Planning, Procurement, Logistics, Quality, Engineering, and Finance), manage supplier performance, and implement action plans to mitigate risks and improve efficiency.

Youll specifically take care of leading the material planning process and managing supplier KPIs, but also drive team performance and develop competencies within your team.

• 6+yrs of Experience from Engineering Mechanical background
• Knowledge of materials requirements planning and supplier delivery performance management
• Skills: SAP GSI or SAP Hana or SAP experience. Advance excel, digital analytics, Power BI, Qlik
• A Supply Chain or Project Management certification
• Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI)
• Strong skills in lean management, team leadership, and collaboration
• Fluency in English, with knowledge of a local language being a plus
