Job summary

Alstom in Mumbai, India is seeking a full-time Material Planner to ensure seamless material flow across production and projects. You will coordinate with Industrial Planning, Procurement, Logistics, Quality, Engineering and Finance to manage supplier performance and mitigate risks.

The role emphasizes leading planning processes, developing team capabilities, and delivering value through lean practices and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in mechanical engineering / supply chain.
• Knowledge of materials requirements planning and supplier delivery performance management.
• Proficiency in SAP (GSI or Hana) and advanced analytics tools (Excel, Power BI, Qlik).
• Supply chain or project management certification is a plus.
• Excellent MS Office skills and collaboration abilities.
• Fluency in English; local language knowledge is a plus.

• Lead the material planning process to ensure uninterrupted production flow.
• Manage supplier KPIs and drive supplier performance improvements.

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your supply chain expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative, forward-thinking, and dynamic teammates.

You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless flow of materials, supporting both internal and external stakeholders to meet production and project needs. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (e.g., Industrial Planning, Procurement, Logistics, Quality, Engineering, and Finance), manage supplier performance, and implement action plans to mitigate risks and improve efficiency.

You’ll specifically take care of leading the material planning process and managing supplier KPIs, but also drive team performance and develop competencies within your team.

• 6+yrs of Experience from Engineering Mechanical background
• Knowledge of materials requirements planning and supplier delivery performance management
• Skills: SAP GSI or SAP Hana or SAP experience. Advance excel, digital analytics, Power BI, Qlik
• A Supply Chain or Project Management certification
• Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI)
• Strong skills in lean management, team leadership, and collaboration
• Fluency in English, with knowledge of a local language being a plus
