Job summary

Alstom in Sabarmati seeks a Material Planner to ensure seamless production material flow. You will handle planning activities, orders, shortages, and coordination with suppliers and internal teams to maintain material availability and drive operational excellence.

The role requires a BE/B.Tech with 6–7 years of experience or 3–4 years within Alstom Services Depo, strong SAP MM skills, and familiarity with ASCOT & KINAXIS. English fluency and adaptability are essential.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Engineering with 6–7 years of experience, or 3–4 years with Alstom Services Depo
• Experience in material planning in RS or automotive industry preferred
• Proficiency in SAP MM module and MS Office; familiarity with ASCOT and KINAXIS

Responsibilities

• Manage Material Planning activities at Services Depot
• Place orders, track shortages, ensure material availability at depo
• Coordinate with vendors and plant cross-functional teams at L2 level
• Track supplier delivery performance
• Perform demand management & analysis for depo parts
• Optimize delivery performance through ERP system settings
• Identify procurement strategies and drive improvements
• Report on delivery and stock accuracy
• Initiate corrective actions for stock discrepancies and non-conformities
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance material planning processes
• Cover for colleagues in their absence and contribute to team efforts

Responsibilities

• Taking care of Material Planning activities at Services Depo
• Placing orders, tracking shortages, and ensuring material availability at depo
• Coordinating with vendors and plant CFT at L2 level for flawless operations
• Tracking supplier delivery performance
• Demand management & analysis for depo parts
• Evaluating and improving delivery performance through ERP system settings
• Identifying procurement strategies
• Reporting on delivery and stock accuracy
• Initiating corrective actions for stock discrepancies and non‑conformities in terms of material planning
• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to enhance material planning processes
• Assuming responsibilities of colleagues in their absence and contributing to team efforts

Required Competencies

• Degree in Engineering (BE or B.Tech) with 6‑7 years of experience, or 3‑4 years in Alstom Services Depo
• Experience or understanding of material planning in RS or the automotive industry preferred
• Knowledge of ERP systems, particularly SAP (MM Module), and proficiency in MS Office tools
• Familiarity with ASCOT and KINAXIS
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken
• Agility in managing uncertainty and adapting to change
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach
