Job summary

Alstom Transportation in Sabarmati is seeking a Material Planner to co-ordinate material planning activities at the Services Depo. You will place orders, track shortages and ensure material availability while collaborating with vendors and plant cross-functional teams.

You will evaluate delivery performance, perform demand analysis for depo parts, and drive improvements in ERP settings, stock accuracy, and procurement strategies while supporting colleagues in their absence.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech with 6–7 years experience (or 3–4 years in Alstom Services Depo).
• Experience in material planning in RS or automotive industry preferred.
• Knowledge of ERP systems, especially SAP MM, and MS Office proficiency.
• Familiarity with ASCOT and KINAXIS.
• Fluency in English, written and spoken.
• Agility in managing uncertainty and change.
• Strong problem-solving and proactive approach.

Purpose Of Role

You'll ensure the seamless flow of materials necessary for production, contributing significantly to our operational excellence. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (Operations, Warranty, Quality, Warehouse & Planning), optimize logistics parameters, and much more.

You'll specifically take care of creating material requisitions, managing ERP system data, and acting on missing parts in production, but also re-evaluating inventory strategies to balance supply chain efficiency and cost management.

• Degree in Engineering (BE or B.Tech) with experience of 6-7 Years/ Experience Of 3-4 Years in Alstom at any of Services Depo
• Experience or understanding of material planning in RS or the automotive industry is preferred
• Knowledge of ERP systems, particularly SAP (MM Module), and proficiency in MS Office tools
• Familiarity with ASCOT and KINAXIS
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken
• Agility in managing uncertainty and adapting to change
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
