Qualifications

  • 10th/12th/ITI or equivalent education.
  • Valid forklift operator certification is mandatory.
  • At least 10 years of experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or factory setting.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a forklift to transport goods and materials across the facility.
  • Load and unload merchandise from trailers, containers, and pallets.
  • Maintain accurate stock records using ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Conduct daily forklift inspections and report issues to the supervisor.
  • Ensure safety and cleanliness in the work area according to protocols.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, procurement and quality teams.
  • Perform stock audits and ensure proper storage and FIFO/LIFO as required.
  • Verify incoming materials against purchase orders and specs.

Job description

The Forklift operator cum Storekeeper will be responsible for to operate a forklift to move, locate, and stack merchandise in a warehouse or factory setting. Ensure safe and efficient operation of the forklift, while maintaining a clean and organized work environment

This role ensures efficient store operations, stock accuracy, and compliance with industry standards while optimizing space and reducing waste.

Forklift Operation:
  • Operate a forklift to transport goods and materials throughout the warehouse or factory.
  • Load and unload merchandise from trailers, containers, and pallets.
  • Locate and retrieve merchandise from storage areas.
  • Stack and store merchandise in an orderly and accessible manner.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the forklift to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Report any damage or issues with the forklift to the supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve warehouse goals and objectives
  • Oversee the receipt, storage, and issuance of raw materials, components, consumables, and finished goods.
  • Maintain accurate stock records using inventory management systems (ERP/SAP).
  • Conduct regular physical stock audits and reconciliations.
  • Ensure the safe and proper storage of materials to prevent damage and loss.
  • Monitor stock levels.
Inventory & Store Management:
  • Oversee the receipt, storage, and issuance of raw materials, components, consumables, and finished goods.
  • Maintain accurate stock records using inventory management systems (ERP/SAP).
  • Conduct regular physical stock audits and reconciliations.
  • Ensure the safe and proper storage of materials to prevent damage and loss.
Team work & Collaboration:
  • Verify incoming materials against purchase orders and quality specifications.
  • Inform to procurement & Supervisor for material deliveries and discrepancies.
  • Work closely with the production, maintenance, procurement and quality teams to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
Compliance & Documentation:
  • Maintain proper documentation of inventory transactions, GRN (Goods Receipt Notes), and issue slips.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations for storage and handling.
  • Implement best practices in warehouse management and safety protocols.
Process Improvement & Cost Control:
  • Optimize material handling to improve efficiency.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Follow the FIFO (First In, First Out) and LIFO (Last In, Last Out) methodologies as required.
  • Suggest process improvements and automation to streamline store operations.
Key Skills & Competencies:
  • Ability to operate a forklift & stacker for loading & unloading of any complex job.
  • Strong knowledge of a forklift & stacker operation.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and warehouse operations in the pump & compressor industry.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) will be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with material handling equipment and storage solutions.
  • Understanding of quality control processes for industrial equipment components.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Team work to manage work efficiently.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance related to Forklift, Stacker & store.
