Job summary

Honeywell Technologies is seeking a skilled fitter for our Pune, India plant to execute all manufacturing stages, assembling, installing and maintaining mechanical systems. The candidate will read technical drawings, perform welding and fabrication, and ensure safety standards are followed on site.

Ideal candidates have 8–10 years in fitting, experience with pipe joints, and proficiency with hand and power tools. The role requires independent work and teamwork in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Fitter or similar role.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Experience in welding and fabrication.
• Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.).
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Experience in welding of pipe joints from Butt weld, Fillet weld, socket weld (1/2” to 12”).
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, 45001, 50001.
• ITI in Fitter or Diploma.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, procedures and measurements to plan weld layouts, assemble and install mechanical systems and equipment.
• Set up and fit components for welding like pipe fittings, machine fittings, and structure fittings.
• Operate hand tools and power tools to shape and fit material.
• Weld and fabricate components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures for flaws.
• Maintain equipment and accessories in safe condition.
• Perform maintenance and repair work on mechanical systems and equipment.

Job description

The successful candidate will work with an energetic and collaborative team at Sundyne’s plant located in Pune, India. The fitter must be a skilled and organized person who is responsible for executing all manufacturing stages, assembling, installing and maintaining mechanical systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience in fitting, welding, and fabrication and be able to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. He will be well-versed in all maintenance processes and health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will also have understanding of 5S, OHAS, EMS, ISO, documentation, etc.

• Read & interpret technical drawing, schematics, blueprints, procedures and measurements to plan weld layouts, assemble and install mechanical systems and equipment’s.

• Set up & fitting components for welding like pipe fittings, machine fitting, and structure fittings.

• Operate hand tools, power tools, cutting machine, beveling machine, grinders, threading machine to shape and fit the material.

• Weld and fabricate components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in required positions.

• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.

• Maintain equipment with accessories in good condition without compromising on safety.

• Perform maintenance and repair work on mechanical systems and equipment.

Technical/Functional Skills:

• Proven experience as a Fitter or similar role

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics

• Experience in welding and fabrication

• Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)

• Strong attention to detail

• Excellent problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Good communication skills

• Experience in welding of pipe joints consisting of Butt weld, Fillet weld, socket weld from 1/2” to 12” sizes.

• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective equipment.

• Knowledge of ISO 9001,45001,50001.

• ITI in Fitter/Diploma

• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in a similar industry.

• Proven experience working as a fitter.

• A valid certificate as fitter from a reputed institution is preferred

• Demonstrate critical thinking, problem solving and creativity.
