Job summary

MRF in Trichy invites a Manufacturing Excellence Lead with 9–15 years of experience to drive plant-wide improvement initiatives. You will lead Lean/ TPM/ Kaizen programs, establish performance metrics, and guide cross-functional teams to enhance OEE, productivity and quality while optimizing costs.

Focused on structured problem solving, daily management, and digital dashboards, this role demands hands-on coaching and sustained, standardized improvements across processes.

Qualifications

• 9–15 years of manufacturing experience with Manufacturing/Operational Excellence focus.
• Plant-level improvement program leadership and cross-functional project experience.
• Hands-on Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Kaizen, and structured problem-solving with performance management systems.
• Experience driving change and influencing production teams at shop-floor and management levels.

Responsibilities

• Drive the Manufacturing Excellence roadmap for the plant aligned with business objectives.
• Lead Continuous Improvement/Operational Excellence initiatives across production, quality, maintenance and support functions.
• Establish and improve metrics like OEE, productivity, yield, throughput and process capability.
• Identify systemic losses and lead root-cause analysis and structured problem solving.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Kaizen, 5S, Visual Management and structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Benchmark processes and facilitate adoption of best practices and standard operating systems.
• Lead cross-functional projects for capacity enhancement, cost reduction and process improvement.
• Develop daily management systems, performance reviews and shop-floor management practices.
• Drive digital/data-based manufacturing improvements: dashboards, loss analytics, process monitoring.
• Facilitate Manufacturing Excellence assessments/audits and track actions to closure.
• Train and coach production and cross-functional teams in Lean, TPM, problem-solving and CI tools.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering and Supply Chain for sustainable implementation.
• Ensure improvements are standardized, sustained and replicated across processes.

Function: Manufacturing Excellence / Operations

Role Purpose

Lead and drive Manufacturing Excellence initiatives across the manufacturing unit to improve operational performance, manufacturing capability, quality, cost, productivity and equipment effectiveness through structured improvement methodologies, data-driven decision making and deployment of best manufacturing practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the Manufacturing Excellence roadmap for the plant aligned with business and manufacturing objectives.
• Lead Continuous Improvement / Operational Excellence initiatives across production, quality, maintenance and supporting functions.
• Establish and improve manufacturing performance metrics such as OEE, productivity, yield, throughput, downtime, conversion cost and process capability.
• Identify systemic losses and lead root-cause analysis and structured problem-solving for chronic and high-impact manufacturing issues.
• Drive implementation of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Kaizen, 5S, Visual Management and structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Benchmark manufacturing processes and facilitate adoption of best practices and standard operating systems across manufacturing areas.
• Lead cross-functional projects for capacity enhancement, loss elimination, quality improvement, cost reduction and manufacturing process improvement.
• Develop and strengthen daily management systems, performance review mechanisms and shop-floor management practices.
• Drive digital/data-based manufacturing improvement initiatives, including performance dashboards, loss analytics and process monitoring.
• Facilitate Manufacturing Excellence assessments / audits and track improvement actions to closure.
• Build capability of production and cross-functional teams through training and coaching in Lean, TPM, problem-solving and continuous improvement tools.
• Work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering and Supply Chain teams to ensure sustainable implementation of improvement initiatives.
• Ensure improvements are standardized, sustained and replicated across relevant manufacturing processes.

Desired Experience

• 9–15 years of experience in manufacturing, with significant exposure to Manufacturing Excellence / Operational Excellence / Continuous Improvement in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in leading plant-level improvement programs and cross-functional manufacturing projects.
• Strong hands-on exposure to Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Kaizen, structured problem solving and performance management systems.
• Experience in driving change and influencing production teams at the shop-floor and management levels.
