Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing or mechanical engineering required.

  • 15 years manufacturing experience, 10+ in oil & gas.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and connection technologies.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Job description

TITLE: Manufacturing engineering manager


SUMMARY: Manage and support the manufacturing engineering team, creating process flow, defining efficient manufacturing processes for high-quality products. The role involves managing product transfers and development projects, optimizing manufacturing processes, and ensuring adherence to industry standards. Utilizes technical problem solving, project management skills, and sound people management to meet business objectives. Ensures compliance with company policies and helps improve and maintain engineering processes and best practices.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Leadership and Management:
  • Manage, lead, and coach the manufacturing engineering team and establish priorities and expectations for their activities.
  • Lead the Manufacturing Engineering function, including process routing and cost estimation
  • Support training and development for the Manufacturing Engineers to enhance their skills and continuous learning latest manufacturing techniques
  • Product Development and Optimization:
  • Develop and define efficient manufacturing processes to introduce new products to manufacturing operations
  • Identify areas for process improvement and lead initiatives to optimize production operations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Project Management:
  • Oversee manufacturing engineering projects from concept to completion. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Oversee product transfers and development projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and deadlines.
  • Process Optimization:
  • Develop and implement efficient manufacturing processes, utilizing CAD/CAM applications and CNC machines.
  • Design and optimize tools and fixtures, ensuring the highest quality and efficiency in production.
  • Continuously improve manufacturing processes through Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure product quality at the time of manufacturing.
  • Work closely with the quality assurance team to resolve any process-related issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with industry standards and specifications related to downhole tools.
  • Technical Support:
  • Provide technical support to production teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive innovation.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Competencies (skills & abilities)

Ability to:

  • Demonstrate an organized and disciplined approach to manufacturing engineering management.
  • Display strong leadership and management skills including performance management, planning, prioritization, objective setting, and plan execution.
  • Communicate technical concepts, needs, and instructions accurately, clearly, and concisely to both technical and non-technical colleagues in English and Hindi.
  • Interact with, influence, resolve conflict and drive consensus among individuals from a variety of cultures and disciplines, at times under stressful circumstances.
  • Make decisions with direct consequences for the company.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in technical tools and systems.

Education & Knowledge
  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and project management.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 10 years in the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and connection technologies.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to lead complex projects to successful completion.
  • Proven experience in leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Experience
  • Extensive experience with well construction / completion / casing accessory industry equipment
  • Experience in a technical management / leadership role
  • Experience working and leading other in India
  • Extensive experience with CAD/CAM applications, CNC machines, Press shop and Welding, tooling design.
