Job description

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, manage, and integrate new site construction activities and manufacturing processes to ensure on‑time project execution and commencement of production with quality products.
• Supervise construction, erection, and commissioning of structures and buildings according to design and specifications, performing thorough risk assessments within the EHS framework.
• Demonstrate leadership behaviors, drive execution with SQDC principles, and maintain zero deviation in Safety and Quality.
• Manage and instruct site supervisors, engineers, and workers; set schedules, monitor performance, and ensure 100% EHS compliance daily.
• Conduct regular site inspections, address potential hazards immediately, and obtain required permits.
• Drive project schedule and site readiness (planned vs. actual), integrating interfaces across all activities and anticipating requirements.
• Develop and execute future‑ready factory operations, implementing state‑of‑the‑art technologies and smart factory concepts (automation, digitization, robotics, AI, machine learning, paper‑less processes).
• Translate business strategy, cascade implementation throughout functional areas, and embed lean principles early in process development for new product introductions.
• Lead manufacturing excellence initiatives focused on sustainability, smart manufacturing, and operational efficiency metrics (throughput, labor hours, cycle time, product cost, overall productivity).
• Generate daily progress reports to leadership, oversee all construction activities, and maintain 5S housekeeping, ISO compliance (ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 19443, ISO 3834‑2), and environmental policies.
• Apply knowledge of safe working loads, slinging, anchored loads, winches, and crane operations (overhead and mobile cranes) to ensure safe small and large lifts.
• Coach and develop team members, maximizing potential, and raise stop‑work or quality concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with process and engineering teams to improve current manufacturing processes and new projects.
• Identify training needs based on skill assessment and project requirements.
• Control, organize, and monitor production operations, implementing corrective actions and recovery plans for delays to meet agreed targets.
• Lead Gemba walks to improve EHS and 5S practices.
• Manage cost execution (estimate vs. actual), drive new product qualification, and prepare related documentation.
• Optimize resource utilization to achieve production targets and ensure material and equipment availability.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech/Diploma in Mechanical/Production Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in core manufacturing, methods, heavy machining, and assembly of turbine casings or similar product lines.
• Strong integrity, high ethical, moral, and personal values in decision making and communication.
• Lean mindset and proficiency with lean and quality tools (VSM, PFMEA, A3, 8D, 5S, 3P, Six Sigma, SPS).
• Knowledge of current manufacturing technologies, automation, digitalization, and smart factory concepts (AI, machine learning, robotics).
• Experience coordinating multi‑disciplinary teams, suppliers, contractors, and cross‑functional projects.
• Comprehensive understanding of heavy fabrication, machining (CNC turning, milling, boring), assembly, and quality inspection techniques.
• Basic to advanced knowledge of heat‑treatment processes, welding codes and documents (WPS, Welding Book), welding positions (GMAW, SAW), and NDT inspection methods.
• Familiarity with EHS standards (ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 19443, ISO 3834‑2) and the ability to enforce 5S and safety practices.
• Proficiency in crane operation safety (safety working load, signals, slinging, winches, anchored loads).
• Strong communication, coaching, and team‑development skills.
