Qualifications

  • Drive production readiness through process validation, trial builds, and issue resolution before mass production.
  • Collaborate with Design, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain for model launches.
  • Develop assembly process flows, work instructions, and line layouts.
  • Support pilot builds, ramp-up, and ensure issues are tracked and resolved.
  • Identify manufacturing risks early and implement countermeasures.

Job description

The Manufacturing Engineering Assembly Deputy Manager role leads manufacturing and process engineering activities for assembly line operations. Working on site, the position supports existing production, new model launches, process validation, quality improvement, safety compliance, and manufacturing standardisation through close cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Manufacturing Engineering & Process Engineering

    • Lead manufacturing engineering activities for assembly line operations, ensuring processes are safe, efficient, and aligned with production requirements
    • Develop, implement, and optimise assembly processes to support current production, new model launches, and model changes
    • Plan and execute process development activities, including line balancing, tooling readiness, workstation design, and workforce requirements
    • Establish and maintain manufacturing standards to achieve process capability, productivity, quality, cost, and delivery targets
    • Drive production readiness by coordinating process validation, trial builds, equipment readiness, and issue resolution before mass production
  • New Model Development

    • Lead manufacturing feasibility reviews for new model introductions and provide engineering input during product and process development
    • Coordinate with Design, Quality, Production, Supply Chain, and other cross‑functional teams to support timely and successful model launches
    • Prepare and maintain assembly process flows, work instructions, line layouts, tooling requirements, and other manufacturing readiness documents
    • Support pilot builds, trial production, and ramp‑up activities, ensuring open issues are tracked, resolved, and validated before mass production
    • Identify manufacturing risks at an early stage and implement countermeasures to support a smooth transition from development to regular production
  • Quality & Validation Activities

    • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Production teams to develop robust processes that consistently meet product quality requirements
    • Lead process validation, production trials, and verification activities to confirm process stability and readiness
    • Support quality improvement, defect reduction, and productivity enhancement initiatives through structured problem‑solving methods
    • Participate in root cause analysis for process and quality issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions
    • Monitor process performance and support continuous improvement through standardisation, data analysis, and cross‑functional reviews
  • Safety & Regulatory Compliance

    • Ensure assembly processes comply with applicable safety, environmental, statutory, and regulatory requirements
    • Conduct process risk assessments and implement engineering controls to improve workplace safety and reduce operational risks
    • Promote safe working practices, 5S discipline, and adherence to defined operating standards across assembly operations
    • Support audits, inspections, and compliance reviews by ensuring the required process controls and documentation are in place
  • Documentation & Standardisation

    • Develop, update, and control manufacturing process documentation to ensure consistency across production operations
    • Prepare and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions, process failure mode and effects analysis, control plans, process standards, and related engineering documents
    • Ensure manufacturing engineering documents are accurate, current, and aligned with quality, safety, and production requirements
    • Drive the standardisation of best practices across assembly processes to improve repeatability, training effectiveness, and operational control
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing engineering and process engineering for assembly line operations
  • Understanding of line balancing, tooling readiness, workstation design, process validation, trial production, and new model development
  • Capability in structured problem‑solving, root cause analysis, process risk assessment, quality improvement, and corrective and preventive actions
  • Ability to prepare and control manufacturing documents, including standard operating procedures, work instructions, process failure mode and effects analysis, control plans, process flows, and line layouts
