Job summary

WhiteCrow Research is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer in Bengaluru to drive process design, NPI/NPD projects and cost optimization. The role leads cross-functional interfaces and ensures quality through SPC/SQC, PFMEA, and Control Plans while managing vendors and new equipment installations.

You will develop and implement manufacturing improvement plans, analyze technologies, and support daily production planning to meet targets and drive efficiency across product lines.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Industrial, Electronics or Mechanical with 7–9 years of industrial experience.
• Minimum 4 years of project management experience in manufacturing settings.
• Proven experience in quality and productivity improvement projects.
• Experience in New Product Development from customer order to handover.

Responsibilities

• Analyze new technologies and manufacturing processes and assess feasibility of projects.
• Ensure interfaces between Production, Planning, Engineering, QC and other functions.
• Plan and monitor manufacturing improvement processes using work-study techniques.
• Support Production in achieving targets via process improvements, training, and FAI.
• Develop new processes and create PFMEA, Control Plans, and SOPs.
• Manage vendors, install and commission new equipment, coordinate with cross-functional teams for validation.
• Drive NPI/NPD projects and prepare FAI documentation and approvals.
• Implement SPC/SQC and IoT-based quality tracing and monitoring.
• Create and maintain programming software and production control documents for audits.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors on external projects.
• Support daily production planning and capacity/layout planning for new lines.
• Lead cost reduction through process optimization and automation.
• Support manufacturing in continuous improvement and resolve shop-floor quality issues.
• Develop systems to optimize all production phases and perform root-cause analysis.
• Review designs for manufacturability and suggest cost-saving design changes.

About the role

• Manufacturing engineer is responsible for preparing the process sheets, tool design, establish overall strategic goals & objectives of Manufacturing Engineering in alignment with organizational goals.
• This role will be an individual contributor, which reports to MGR I MFG & Process development engineer.

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for...

• Analyzing new technologies and manufacturing processes, and planning and assessing the feasibility of new and ongoing projects.
• Ensuring effective interfaces between Production, Production Planning, Engineering, QC, and other functions.
• Planning, designing, and monitoring manufacturing improvement processes using work study techniques.
• Ensuring day-to-day accountability and supporting the Production team in achieving targets through process improvements, training, FAI, etc.
• Developing new processes and creating all process documents, including PFC, PFMEA, Control Plans, and SOPs, by understanding the depth of product requirements.
• Managing vendors, programming, installing, and commissioning new equipment, and coordinating with CFTs for complete process validation.
• Executing NPI/NPD projects and developing and creating all required FAI documentation and obtaining approvals.
• Implementing process monitoring and control systems (SPC & SQC) and quality traceability systems using IoT technology.
• Creating, maintaining, and controlling all programming software and production control documents for auditing.
• Managing vendors and subcontractors and supporting external projects.
• Supporting the Production team in achieving day-wise plans.
• Preparing CT and investment plans for new products and working on cost reduction through process optimization and automation.
• Managing spare parts ordering and vendors, reducing downtime, and planning and executing capacity and layouts for new product lines.
• Supporting Manufacturing in continuous improvement, resolving quality issues on the shop floor, managing new launches, and implementing engineering changes.
• Developing and implementing systems that optimize all phases of the production process and conducting root-cause analysis.
• Reviewing designs for manufacturing feasibility and suggesting design changes to ensure product cost-effectiveness.

What you already have...

• BE/ B. Tech (Industrial/Electronics, Mechanical).
• Minimum 7 to 9 years of industrial experience with 4 years of project management experience.
• Experience in quality & productivity improvement projects.
• Experience in New product development from scratch i.e. customer order to Production handover.
